GIVING DAY 2023
I see a special MTE happening next year.

St Thomas (Houston)
St Thomas (Florida)
St Thomas (Minnesota)
St Thomas Aquinas

all traveling to St Thomas (island) and being sponsored by Thomas Breads. If we are lucky maybe @gmutom will attend.
Streaming available through ThomasHoops. Lifetime pass $49.99 but free to IPs registered in Thomasville, GA. Streams only work in the BanzaiBuddy browser. There is no audio or score bug. One of Mason's games will not be on the stream at all.

GIVING DAY 2023
For those wondering- I googled and found a site (https://bracketologists.com/bracket/) that gave an estimate on where the NET cutoff for an at large bid is. FWIW its at 52.

So the A10 schools that are in that 60-100 range, have more work to do (obviously). I'm not sure if its absolute in the sense the top 52 will make it from what they are proposing (probably not), but it gives a good idea that Mason/St Joes/Dayton are all in the neighborhood.

Now granted, a bad loss, not winning by enough against a bad opponent etc, all will tilt the scales.

Even if we go 3-0 to finish off the OOC schedule we won't gain much if any ground in the NET rankings playing at home against Loyola (323 NET) and NC A&T (359 NET), and a neutral site game against Tulane (126 NET). Next chance for anything better than a Quad 3 win will most likely be at Richmond 1/13 and at GW 1/15. Two big road games just two days apart.

Mason's biggest problem: They play all the top 4 NET A10 teams at home. They would have to play any or all of them on the road to secure Q1 wins.

We play at Saint Joe's (NET 48) 1/31 which right now would be a Q1 win but after the A-10 teams start beating up on each other we may not have any Q1 chances.

That awful showing against a terrible Loyola team yesterday dropped Mason 12 spots in the NET rankings from 61 to 73.

I think the Tulane game is at Tulane.

ESPN article on disappointing records of many of the Power conference teams that were expected to go deep into the tournament, finishes with this:

BONUS: What does the power conferences' uncertainty mean for mid-majors?

If there was a common theme from the conference-by-conference breakdowns, it's a lack of depth. In theory, this should open the door for more potential at-large bids from the mid-major leagues, and there do seem to be more viable candidates at this point of the regular season than in the past. The American and Mountain West should once again get multiple bids, while the likes of Princeton, James Madison, Grand Canyon, Saint Joseph's and Dayton have all done enough to at least monitor their at-large chances moving forward.

Updated for post 12/16 games - Dayton and SJU in great spots after big wins Saturday.

Will be very important how the games amongst the top 5 teams play out and if Dayton and SJU can get themselves in a strong enough position to allow for a loss against teams 3, 4 or 5 to possibly get them into an at large position.
