After his freshman season (1997-98), I congratulated George Evans on being selected CAA ROY and 2nd team All-CAA. I asked him about his goals for the rest of his career. He simply pointed up, and said to put banners in the rafters. He was a grown man, a Gulf War combat veteran, who was only interested in team accomplishments. And, of course, he put banners in the rafters.
1. Becoming a ROY and 3-time POY after not really playing organized basketball growing up, and becoming a true freshman at 25+ years old after serving in the Gulf war
2. The breakaway dunk followed by immediately stealing the inbounds
3. Telling the team, "you can have all of this. The POY, MVP, Dean Ehlers award, all of it. Just get me back to the NCAA tournament."
