Does this add any sort of advantage to either seed? I imagine higher seeds have the advantage because lower seeds don’t get that underdog energy boost from the fans.

I was going to suggest the opposite. The higher seeded teems, typically, bring a lot more fans. But, do they bring more fans than the combined set of of fans from the same pod that might root against them, I don't know. I think it benefits the underdog at the beginning of the game where they won't be swamped by, say, a well traveling Duke fanbase. As the game goes on, though, I would think the crowd would get behind an underdog and they could feed off of it.

To conclude, I think I have proven that I have no idea how it will impact the games other than to make them less interesting to watch.

It’s going to be weird either way. UEFA has punished some clubs by forcing teams to okay with no fans after racial abuse and it is post-Apocalyptic watching on TV.

Probably the most underwhelming college basketball season in my lifetime. Then this? Get NCAAB a body bag.

I wonder if the numbers drop, would they change the rule and allow fans to attend the later rounds?

Overall this is ridiculous. If anything, leave every other row empty and each row, say its 12 seats, sell only 6 and let people spread out. To shut fans out is a complete overreaction. And lets not get started on the fact there is a virus every f**king election year.

If I were Dayton I’d be livid. When’s the next time you’ll have a 1 seed team from the A10? I’d have taken all my leave for March and made travel plans. Gotta be a tough pill to swallow.
Not just that, but they will probably be placed in the Cleveland region. How many times have A10 teams been placed close to home (our games in DC don't count because nobody thought we were getting to the 2nd weekend)

Too bad we don't have an FDR.

This will be an interesting tournament with no fans. It’s gonna seem like we are watching exhibitions or games at Fordham, I don’t know if no fans favors Cinderella’s or the big schools.

I understand what they're trying to do...stamp it out so it doesn't linger into summer, but it does seem extreme.

This will be the year Mason surprises everyone and makes the tourney, and we can’t even go to watch
