Summer Leagues 2016

I know it's a bit early, but any word on who's hanging around campus to play on local summer league teams? I assume most if not all the freshmen will be here...

No active roster players participated in the Kenner (Nike Pro) League last year. Did see vets like Will Thomas and Bryon Allen. Play usually begins after the 4th of July but schedules are poorly advertised and attendance is spotty. Still fun to go to The Tombs before and swill down some cheap Georgetown beers. Would love to see Mason represented but I get the feeling that Paulsen knows it's glorified playground ball and that players can improve other ways.

Is it just me, or has the Kenner league gotten crappier over the past couple years?
Yes it has. I cringe every year when I see Jesus Urbina play. I love the one really old official though. He just stands at half court and tries to make calls from there. Pretty funny. Listening to all the Georgetown fans is fun too.

I hope they do play and the reason why they didn't last year was bc Paulsen wanted more time to get to know the players. Even though it is glorified street ball they are still playing against D1 players and that's always a good experience, especially for the freshmen.

Began searching and have not found anything yet. If anyone finds any details it would be greatly appreciated. Still surprises me that they don't have a website, wouldn't be that hard to do.

I don't know about the seniors --especially since Marquise and Jalen are both from NYC -- but with 10 freshmen and sophomores on the roster, most (if not all) of them should be on campus for summer session to get a jump on their academics.

If that is the case, there's no reason at all why they shouldn't be playing.

All of this talk about b-ball is quite refreshing. The next milestone to show the season is getting closer is the update of the team roster. Only 4.5 months 'til Mason Madness!

Would stink if current GMU players don't play again this season, but FYI, the crowd-sourced rosters and schedule can be found here.

Went to Kenner today because I was bored and wanted to watch some basketball. Higher level was the 3rd game of the day and to my surprise there were plenty to Mason players. Otis and Grayer came out, Will freaking Thomas was also there. The other team had Florian Campbell. Both teams were loaded with GW, GTown and GMU players. The other team had GTowns point guard Tre Campbell, Otis had no problem playing against him. Otis's natural leadership was amazing to watch, he had easily double digit assist, controlled the game, and encouraged his players. Both players look physically stronger and more poised on the court. I hope this wasn't a one time showing for them.

From a poster on GWHoops.com:

2 of his teammates on Higher Level were George Mason's freshman backcourt of Otis Livingston and Jair Grayer. Anyone who paid attention to Mason last year saw that those guys have the potential to be one of the best backcourts in the A-10 for the next 3 years and they showed it today. I know some of you don't think much of Kenner League play, but to me it's very beneficial for college underclassmen(especially guys who have high expectations next year like Roland and George Mason's rising sophs) because they are being tested and can get better.

Nice that even somebody from a rival program recognizes what we already knew: Otis and Jaire are special.

By the time these guys are seniors, we're gonna be nasty.

very glad to see Jaire and Otis playing in the Kenner league. Playing against Gtown and GW guys will surely help their summer development.
