The shutout streak is still going. The woman’s B-ball team won 64-60 today. We now are leading GW 7-0 in the Rivarly Cup.

Even though GW just picked up their first 2 pts in this year's rivalry in men's and women's swimming, to make it 9-2, this year has been such a beat down GW has removed all reference to the rivalry from their website!

Win this Saturday clinches it for us for the first time ever (first to 10).

It doesn't help that we've been an average team at best and GW is pretty god awful. We tried starting the "Battle of the Orange Line" back in 2011 but it never took off after that.

From a pure men's basketball standpoint, the Athletics Dept. should play up the vcu rivalry whenever/where ever they can.

From a pure men's basketball standpoint, the Athletics Dept. should play up the vcu rivalry whenever/where ever they can.

There’s also a lot more history playing vcu since like 1985 than playing gw. It makes more sense for them to play this rivalry and even JMU more than GW at this point since they have played since 1960 something.

At some point Mason vs Gw games will matter because the programs compete for attention, recruits etc. Until there’s some crazy ending to some matchups or both teams improve it’ll probably be meh.
