Can't wait for it to be the battle of the 16-14 and 8-8 big ten team vs the 16-14 and 8-8 Big East team in some neutral site game that draws 1500 people.

They are too good for the NIT so they feel like they can do better and do their own tournament. Sure okay.

This won't open additional opportunities for anyone. It will just result in the death of the NIT (which is already on life support now that they've abandonedthe one thing they still had which made them special: competing for an opportunity play at MSG)

This is just the 1st step in creating a separate tournament for the P5s. Sure, at first it's just for the teams that miss the NCAA, but later on the P5s will separate from the NCAA and use this as their base for a tourney that cuts the NCAA out of the money.
