Right now we're a four-guard lineup that can't shoot threes, generate turnovers or score fast break points. That's a recipe for a 25-loss season. We shot 50% from the field and lost to Mount Saint Mary's - our margin for error is basically nil until something changes dramatically. I'm not panicking, but the remainder of this season will be a really interesting test of Paulsen's coaching acumen, because something needs to change.

What if the transfers didn't pan out or took a full season to get with the program? Wouldn't the situation still be every bit as shitty, if not moreso?

At the least they would be body ready. The staff knows they coukd of had a shooter but are against transfers.

They knew they could have improved the roster immediately but purposely decided not to?

Please tell me you don't really believe that four people whose jobs depend almost entirely on winning games intentionally did something they knew would make them less likely to win.

I will let the assistant coaches know that that their jobs no longer depend on wins and losses. I'm sure they'll be thrilled.

It seems like other A10 schools are down from where they were last year. LaSalle just lost to some school called Texas Southern. In hindsight we are doing better at the beginning of this year than last, blow outs to Colgate and Mercer. Still a possible chance we end up in the middle of the A10 if we can get a solid rotation and play some defense. Jenkins and Moore will be a load for any team in the A10 to contain.

For those like me who are hoping that Coach Paulsen will eventually deploy multiple defenses (including full-court pressure) , see the following response from a Bucknell fan to my question on another thread:

Bottom line is that if a guard heavy team is not good at shooting 3's or making free throws- they will have very few wins. There is no reason every person should not be at least 75% from the line.

My expectations have gone from expecting at least a .500 season with a small A10 tournament run, to "holy crap we're worse than we were last year..."
