I was peaking in on the Richmond @ Fordham game, just got back from a walk and there's been a 15-20 pt turnaround from Fordham dominating in the first half with Richmond now having a working 5-10 pt margin. What happened (assuming not everyone was glued to the Viking-Seahawk game, with their long time outs)?

Richmond went hot from the 3. They hit 5 in a row to tie it up down 15.

Watching Dayton putting on a clinic at St. Bonaventure (MASN/ASN)--leading by 30 with 13 minutes in the second half. Shooting well over 50% and 60% from 3. Can't possibly keep this up, can they?

Ole Miss (whom we beat in Charleston) had a 10 point lead on #24 South Carolina with about 7 minutes left and lost in overtime.

Damn, that really could have helped our RPI and at-large chances.

Adds to the evidence, this conference is wide open.

Maybe there's a reasonable amount of parity, but as much as I hate to say it, vcu is 6-0 having won 3 road games (including St. Joe's & Richmond) and only plays Dayton once. I don't think that they will run the table, but I'd be surprised if they don't finish first. M-A Cox is playing well, better than I thought he'd be offensively, and he doesn't need to be a scorer on that team.

I am waiting to see what happens when vcu plays Davidson, that will be telling to me. Dayton is also a good litmus test.

So St Louis wins @UMass by 9 for their Third win. Everything else in the A10 today is postponed . Last that I saw, Duquesne is still on the Turnpike.

Haven't had a chance to catch a lot of games this year-- what happened to Rhody? Injuries? They don't seem to be performing as everyone expected.

Haven't had a chance to catch a lot of games this year-- what happened to Rhody? Injuries? They don't seem to be performing as everyone expected.

E.C. Matthews (potential A10 player of the year) was injured before the season started and will be out all year.

Last week against St. Joe's, 2 of their starters were victims of flagrant fouls that sidelined them with a concussion for one and a jaw injury for the other.

http://www.providencejournal.com/sp...es-force-watson-thompson-into-starting-lineup

"URI players have now missed a total of 26 games this season, a number that swells to 48 when including senior forward Ifeanyi Onyekaba and his preseason decision to focus on academics rather than complete his basketball career. E.C. Matthews (right knee) sat out his 21st game Tuesday after suffering a torn ACL in the opener against American while Iverson (two games), Hassan Martin (two games) and Garrett (one game) have each joined Matthews on the bench at some point. Martin’s 64-game starting streak was snapped in a meeting with Brown and Garrett’s 39-game streak came to an end on Tuesday, with the sophomore guard hopeful to return Saturday night at La Salle after being fitted with a custom mouth guard to protect a broken tooth"

In their OT loss at UMass last night, one of the sub guards (?) fouled out and they had nobody to handle the ball--committed several turnovers in OT. Not that Umass looked good but they led almost the entire game. The announcers pointed out that URI's road losses have all been by small margins while they've won home games by double digits.

GW beats vcu by 3;ends the Rams 12 game winning streak! Exciting game. Garino was terrific-27 pts.
Love the silence at the end in the Siegal Center!

What a great game and perfect ending. Like you said, Garino was a beast today. Gonna be a lot of sad people today in trailer parks throughout the Richmond area.

Watching the GW-St. Joe's game on CSN and the Hawks look very, very good. Shooting well from 3 and GW's offense is struggling. 17 pt lead with 6:30 left. Goff's preview article on the game indicated that St. Joe's has not lost on the road this year.

Didn't expect this--UMass with a 4 pt lead at home vs vcu on ESPNU. About 5 minutes left. vcu in the double bonus.

UMass is an 11.5 underdog (Vegas insider)
