Just awful. Watching him teach his daughter was very special. So sad.

GIVING DAY 2023
confirmed already?

Basically. A guy was quoted in the NYT saying he heard the helicopter fly low over his church yesterday morning when he was out in the parking lot, but the fog was so low and thick he saw nothing until it crashed and he noticed the smoke.

Looks like the pilot was trying to find his way out of the fog and smacked the side of a mountain at 185 mph.

Even the LA police grounded their helicopters because of the fog. Terrible and sadly avoidable.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2020/01/27/kobe-bryant-crash-investigation/:

"Ewing was an assistant coach in Orlando when Bryant, in the area on a family vacation to Disney World, called the Magic to ask if he could use their facilities to work out.

'While he was on vacation that week, every day in the morning he would come in and work out at 5 a.m.,' Ewing said. 'That showed his drive to be the best he could possibly be, and things like that as a coach, you want your guys to … that’s the work ethic that you try to give them, tell them, show them, talk to them about. A lot of people talk about wanting to be the best, but he put the work in.'"
