Some of the younger posters may not get the reference, but this hire may be even more significant than when Mason landed Gordon Bradley.

A ringing statement about Mason’s commitment to the men’s soccer program.

Gordan Bradley was a cool cat. Would doze off during games on the bench. He signed a few players. Ritchie Kotchau, Eduardo Lima. We even beat #1 Uva in fairfax one year. Lima completely shredded Uva's defense for a hat trick. The next year though, Uva kicked our a** b/c they probably were aware of Lima.

God Bless Coach Bradley.

Thanks for filling in the gap. Our article leaves out what he’s been doing for the last few years. I know nothing about soccer and that was making me skeptical that they plucked someone out of retirement.

Hopefully this guy can get inroads with DC United’s academy and some of the other high performing academies in the area, like Bethesda Soccer Club, and Baltimore Bohemians. I think Oguchi Onyewu also came out of Olney, and there are some NOVA academies that put out some good talent too.

How old is Bolowich? 56 right? Isn't that kind of old to begin anew in the college ranks at a school that has zippy for facilities and support?

Wow...that's interesting. Smart move by the German. Come in restart program, then give to son. Kinda like he did for his assistant at Creighton. Kinda Dean Smithish loyalty to Bill Guthridge even though Dean knew Bill couldn't coach worth a damn.

It is long past time.

Still can't believe Edwards couldn't get the D.C. United deal across the finish line -- I know, I know, collegiate/professional partnership dangers blah, blah, blah...but Fairfax is so much more central to the DMV talent radius than Loudoun is, it made a lot more sense to plant it on Mason's campus.

C'est la vie.

Anyway, building a new 2,500-3,000 seat soccer specific stadium (sans track) would do wonders for the program/local soccer community.

This is Morrison soccer stadium that Creighton has, the last place he coached.

Atleast our drawings are close to that.

A friend of mine is involved with college soccer and tells me our new coach is really good. But the big question will be if the school will give men's soccer the support it needs to compete in the A10 and in the DC area.
