UPDATE: Wake Forest has now officially hired East Tennessee State's Steve Forbes as its next head basketball coach, per multiple sources. School is hopeful to make an official announcement today.

This is also one of the primary reasons why Wake Forest AD John Currie was able to make a move with Danny Manning in the middle of a pandemic.

Sources: Wake Forest believes it does not have to pay Danny Manning the $15 million he had on his existing deal because he failed to meet certain criteria. Been told Wake feels it owes Manning less than half of the $15 million. Two sides could wind up gong to court or settling.

Not sure if this was mentioned already but Isiah Wilkins transferred from va tech to his hometown wake forest. I dont recall seeing an inter conf transfer before.
