Before the season began I had us as top 3, after watching all but a couple of our OOC games I have to adjust my expectations to 6th. We have recently played better ball but I don’t see us as a top 4 team this season. Hope I’m wrong and we turn the corner.

I don't think we lose any games we really shouldn't like we did last year (Fordham, GW) but we don't get every close one to break our way either and we end up somewhere in the 5-6 area again.

GW, Fordham, Lasalle and the Bonnies are all must win games (6).
Richmond, St. Joe's, Duquesne, UMASS are all games we COULD win and I would not be surprised (5)
vcu, Davidson, URI, SLU, Dayton are the games we have to win in order to secure top 4 seed (6).

I can honestly see us going 11-7 with a couple losses to the 2nd tier and a couple wins against the 1st tier of team while sweeping the cellar dwellers. That should be good enough for a top 5.

There are 18 conference games, but I agree with your general premise.

I would guess 11-7 would be enough for top 4. It has been the last several years. There could be more separation between the top 4 and bottom 5 this year, though, so who knows.

Would love for us to get to 12-6, but that would require them to play with a level of consistency they haven’t yet been able to yet.

Ya, took a very quick look on schedule and certainly missed a tier 2 game.. 11-7 is what I think 13-5 is best case scenario to me... A10 is really down and we play 6 games against the crappy teams which should help us...

Obviously I am hoping for a national championship but this seems to be the likeliest scenario based off what we have seen so far.

I agree I just don't know who I would pick us over... Dayton and SLU clearly better than us to me(Anthony Grant known to blow a game a week though).. Davidson and vcu (they really aren't that good still in my eyes) are slightly better than us.. gonna be a tossup between us and URI I think for 5th. If Davidson specifically loses JAG or Grady (I know he is hurt but nothing major) I can see Davidson falling behind us. URI, Duquesne, UMASS, St Joes and Mason are fighting for that 5-7 range

I don’t think anyone is head and shoulders better than us, at least not to the degree URI and St. Bona were last season, but I think we (and most others) will struggle with Davidson because of their ability to spread people out and make 3s.

If our guys are locked in, I see no reason why we can’t finish ahead of everyone else. Not saying it will happen. But every A-10 team has at least one major question mark — there’s a realistic path to a top-4 seed depending on how the tiebreakers fall.

I think our schedule is favorable and if the performances in the last 6 games are an accurate indication of the team consistently playing better, I realistically hope for 10-8 as the floor and possibly sneaking up to 12-6 if we catch fire at some point and pull a few upsets (best case scenario - not my expectation).
