Ideal Conference

Because the offseason is extremely boring, how about a pointless hypothetical.

If you could create an ideal conference. What teams would be including and why. Only rule would be Mason has to make the cut hah.

Real quickly mine would be

Mason
Virginia Tech
UVA
vcu
Richmond
UMD
George Washington
Georgetown
JMU

The problem I have with my list is the most realistic rival is JMU. I intentionally left out ODU so Mason could have a rival.

I favor just joining the Big East as currently constructed (can bring in St. Louis or Dayton to fill out the western half of the conference and get to 12).

Big East

East Division

Georgetown
Villanova
Providence
George Mason
Seton Hall
St. Johns

West Division

Butler
Creighton
Marquette
Xavier
DePaul
St. Louis/Dayton

I like that a lot. I seriously doubt Georgetown would ever let in another team from the same market, though.

I also like the idea of staying in the A10 but kicking some teams out and bringing old members back

Keep
Davidson
Dayton
Mason
GW
UMASS
URI
Richmond
St. Bonaventure
St. Joseph's
vcu

Replace:
Duquesne
Fordam
Le Salle

Old members returning:
Butler
Pittsburg
Xavier

I would never advocate kicking people out of the conference (that's a conversation they used to have on CAA Zone). But why La Salle? They were a Sweet 16 team in 2013 and will probably compete for top 4 next season.

Speaking of La Salle, how did they steal Jamir Moultrie from our back yard?

Good point, I guess I don't have a good reason other then they don't excite me and hypothetically I would prefer Pittsburg so kick out the other PA team.

But now that I think about it I should advocate for a conference of all PA schools and mason.
