Goodbye RPI, Hello NET

It looks like the NCAA announced they are replacing the RPI system of ranking teams with a new system called NET. Starts this season.

“NET will take into account game results, strength of schedule, game location, scoring margin, offensive and defensive efficiency and the quality of wins and losses.”

It will cap the scoring margin at 10 points so teams don’t run up the score on other teams like they do or at least used to in Football.

The 10 point cap in terms of what is being used in the formula needs to be upped to 20.

10 points doesn't seem high enough to me...a one or two possession game can balloon to a 10 point loss easily in the last 30 seconds due to fouling and free throws.
