I used to check GMUHoops.com regularly. But no one comments any more, any reason?

For me the guy running it is a prick who doesn't really know half of what he is talking about..... but that is just me.

I think it's just a seasonal website. It's a read and react as opposed to a message board, which is what this site essentially is. I think Ryan does a pretty good job with previews and game recaps. I also think he knows what he's talking about more than some other Mason websites or blogs.

There's just not much to blog about right now. Once the season gets closer I am sure he will put out more material.

There's tons to post about. Recruiting, other sports, news around the A-10, etc.

Sorry, I shouldn't say that there isn't much to post about. His site has actually been more active than yours over the past month. I'm not saying that as a knock, I know that you all have a much more consistent social media presence, with recruiting notes and such.

My point was that his site is very active during the season and the number of comments reflect that.

Been a commentor on the site for years....... it's July, there is not much action ever this time of year. We're not Kentucky.

The off season has become much less interesting for me because I no longer care so much about who we are recruiting, which is most of the off season stuff. I know recruiting is one of the most important aspects of a college program, but I no longer care that much because, unless you land a TOP prospect, you really have no idea how these guys will pan out.

Sure I am excited about the guys we have coming in this year, some of them seem real solid. But who really knows? I'll get to know these guys and become fans of them once they start playing for us and earning it.

Ryan is far from a prick, he is simply someone who runs a website and sometimes has information to share or talk about while dealing with his career and life.
He is softer than baby poo when you disagree with him. Instead of explaining himself he will block you on social media... And his writing style is ujhhhhhhhhhh

Hard to disagree with this since he also blocked me for no reason other than saying he shouldn't use other people's information without giving them due credit. I think he does a decent job with the site given that it's a hobby, but he does need to take criticism constructively if he wants to be taken seriously.

Correct me if I am wrong, but hasn't Ryan stolen information from this site (or the old one) and not given credit either?

It's definitely harder to get excited during the offseason (especially for a casual fan) when we already know next season will likely be another rebuilding year.

I fully understand the animosity against Ryan (especially from Gunnie), and I had some issues with him in the past as well, but having met him and talked to him in person a number of times, he's a nice guy who genuinely cares about our program. He's more mature than when he first started his site, and from what I've seen, he's made an effort to improve the quality of his site and give better credit to his sources.

This is good to hear. None of my comments were meant as a personal attack on Ryan but more so about the work he was doing. Everybody makes mistakes, and I'm happy to hear he learned from it. His site is a great resource for Mason basketball, although I can't say the same thing about his tweets since I am not privy to seeing them. haha
