Kenpom has us as 5 pt underdogs.

In contrast to Nebraska, NMSt is a good OR% team (36th in the nation....Mason is 34th) but also they are good defending against OR (41st) whereas we're in the 190s in that category. However we did an excellent job against ODU in keeping them off the offensive (and defensive) boards. We'll need to do that again to beat NM St.

Another strength is that NM St's defense is good in creating turnovers (27th), so that's another thing that sometimes is problematic for us. Side note: it seems like turnovers that we are committing are earlier in the game. (Bill was saying we committed 10 in the first 10 minutes, but "only" 9-10 in the last 30). I had the sense that sort of phenomenon was true in some of our recent home games as well. Is that just us or is that a typical pattern for most teams?

One weakness for NM St is that their defense yields higher than average fg%, both from 2 and 3 pt distances (50.7 and 38.7 respectively; ranking 224, 306), which gives us an edge there.

Fingers crossed on this one! We're coming off of our biggest jump in the Kenpom rankings as we had pretty much been stuck around 155 all year; now at 132.

Vegas opens at NMS at -5. Line has gone up to 6 & 6.5

Aggies are led in scoring by 6'6" Sr. Guard Trevelin Queen from Glen Burnie averaging 17 PPG. Don't recall his name ever popping up in our local recruiting ever. Seem like a late bloomer that went the Juco route in New Mexico.

Yes, I remember this game. This played out over and over and over again in the Hewitt era regardless of opponent (whether it was Oklahoma or Northeastern).

Also, New Mexico State being trapped in the WAC is a travesty -- also, what happened to the WAC in the last big realignment is also a travesty.
