We should win this easily, but a team playing a lot of freshmen, and the experienced guys still in recovery from the Virus... Let's just say this season is likely to be a roller coaster. We could have beaten UVA last night and then lost by 30 to Manhattan. We can hang with, or lose to, absolutely anyone. But I'll tell you what we can predict - we are not going to look lost on offense, and we are not going to be furious at our coach at the end of the game.

George Mason beats Manhatten comfortably, 78-57. That's my prediction and I'll stick by it. Also, The basketball team carries a big blow up float of Doc Nix in the Thanksgiving parade while I sit on the curb and clap for both the team and the band. Not sticking to that one though. Someone's got to sit there and cheer this team on, might as well be me.

IF he comes back...

I can't take this poster seriously given that his only positive comment on this board was about free pizza:

  1. "Weak fan showing and weak showing on the court by these guys.

Without Holloway, who is injured, Marko was our best player. We are screwed.

We have no one on the wing, Grayer and Abram are two years away.

During the Q&A one of the "fans" asked where Corey Edwards was...... face palm

    Free pizza was awesome though."

"Both Jenkins and Thompson are so poor fundamentally I doubt they will have much of an impact this year in Paulsen's system."

"Quite the mood change on here after one game lol. I guess most now don't think it's lazy to preview this team last in the A-10...."

If you're going to put this out there atleast put some detail as to how you got the info.
I'm thinking it was more than likely just thrown out there as a negative comment without any insider knowledge. Although I wouldn't be totally surprised to see Holloway use this as an opportunity to use his last year of eligibility as a senior transfer somewhere else like Arledge did. I have no insider information that this is actually happening though just pure speculation.

I find it hard to believe that Holloway is disinterested. The conversation I had with him at the scrimmage would indicate the opposite. He was anxious for the season to start already. If for some reason he doesn't return, it would be because he's not fitting into Paulsen's system, not because of a lack of interest in playing.

kenpom projects a 70-69 Manhattan win, but after this past tournament, I think the algorithm is lagging a bit.

GIVING DAY 2023
Manhattan isn't nearly as good as they've been the last 3 years, but coming off the emotional high of Charleston, I wouldn't be surprised to see us struggle a bit in the first half.

Still a solid 8-point win, 62-54
