Before the season started I would have written this one down as a 20 - 25 point blowout win. It's pretty obvious now that nothing is going to come easily to this team. IF we win it will be a 2 point affair. More likely it will be another home disappointment. I'll go with NCCU 75 - Mason 69.

Have we had a slap down under DP? If you cant play D, then teams will score easily preventing a blow out. And probably many losses and many underwhelming seasons.

I believe we slapped down Dayton pretty good last year. Otis had 29 in that game. 18 point win that was never in doubt.

Two years ago we beat down Penn State pretty badly. That was a 1 point game at the half, but we outscored them by 20 in the second half. We out rebounded them 44-29 in that game. That set off a series of beatdowns actually -- beat Penn by 19, Longwood by 37, PVAM by 16. We also beat La Salle by 20 and Richmond by 23 in conference play, I'd qualify those as beatdowns.

NC Cental is an older team. 22 & 23 yr olds vs our puppy's could spell disaster.

I really, sincerely hope this is the game we start finding our rhythm. All I am hoping for is a win. Winning cures all.

A blow out would be nice but ....... well ...... you know.

Winning breeds confidence and we have very little of that on the team right now, coaching or players.
When everything you've been putting together the entire offseason, the strategy, the practice, the films, the waking up at 6AM etc.... doesn't translate to W's, it can be soul crushing.

Also, we had alot of faults last year but we played much better. In retrospect, maybe continuing developing that team chemistsry would have been better than putting a monkey wrench in the whole system by making Reuter a starter from day one. It may have even helped Reuter to come off the bench as well.

Only silver lining I see is that we no longer have grandiose expectations externally. Maybe that's where this team needs to be.

Agreed. When you have 8 guys who played an entire season together, and now throw someone into the fire from day 1 vs easing them in that may throw everything off. Reuter obviously needs time to adjust. Go back to playing like you were short handed except ease Reuter and Hartwell in. I think Reuter and Mar really need to earn their minutes back, more Mar than Reuter since we know he’s going to play anyway. Mar will just keep pressing.

Let’s hope another w going into Florida playing good ball gives some confidence.

For once I agree with you.

Reuter should come off the bench until he earns the PT. Right now i'm not quite seeing it.
