St. Joe’s Island finished the regular season in 10th place with a record of 21-10 and 11-7 in conference.

The Hawks were 13-4 at home, 4-6 on the road, and 5-1 at neutral sites.

They advanced to the quarterfinal round with a 75-70 win over La Salle.

They beat Dayton 73-68 in OT to advance to the Semis.

We beat the Hawks 58-57 on Saturday, February 15, at EBA. We trailed 37-26 at the half but pulled out the win by outscoring them 32-20 in the second half. Captain obvious reports it was our 2nd half D that won the game. We held them to just 7-21 from the floor and 3-11 from 3 in the 2nd half. Jalen Haynes was the dominant force in this one. He led us with 22 points and 8 rebounds. No one else scored in double figures. We won despite shooting just 44.7% from the field and 20% from 3. Xzavier Brown (19) and Erik Reynolds (11) paced the Hawks.

They are the 6th seed and Mason cannot ignore the 6th seed magic. It’ll be really important for them to put together two halves like they did the second half against GW and make no doubt.
