The Billikens beat the Rams at Rhode Island today improving their record to 10-6 in the A10.

Final home game of the year.

St. Louis has wins against UMass, GW, Richmond, Fordham, LaSalle (twice), St. Joe’s (twice), vcu, and Rhode Island.
Losses are against Duquesne (twice), Dayton (twice), Davidson, and UMass.

The game is on ESPN+.

St. Louis is led by Jordan Goodwin who averages 15.5 ppg and 10.5 rebounds per contest. Javonte Perkins averages 14.3 ppg. Hasahn French averages 12.2 ppg and 10.3 rebonds. Gibson Jimerson rounds out the line-up averaging 10.8 ppg. Opponents shoot 40.8% overall and 33% from 3 against the Billikens. They give up an average of 66.3 points per game.

This will be the lone meeting against the Billikens for the year.

DP is 2-5 against St. Louis as a member of the A10.

My prediction: St. Louis is a lot better than Duquesne. If AJ plays we lose a close one. If AJ’s wrist injury is severe and limits him we lose big. With this loss DP will have 35 home losses in his 5 years. That’s right sports fans, we lose an average of 7 games per year at home under our fearless leader DP. Healthy AJ = Billikens 72 - Mason 65. AJ out = Billikens 75 - Mason 55. We fall to 4-13 in the A10. DP moves to 80-82 for his career.

So Saint Louis is “a lot better” than Duquesne even though they lost to Duquesne twice this season?

I’m gonna file that one right beside the vaunted “homecourt disadvantage theory” in the annals of basketball analysis.

Not to pile on but Jimerson is out for the season and hasn't played at all in conference. SLU really misses the floor spacing he gave them; knock down shooter who was a great complement to French, Goodwin, Bell, and Collins, who all can't shoot.

Javonte Perkins has been a great mid-season emergence for them. Silky smooth scorer averaging 20.2ppg on 52.5% shooting (51% from 3) over the last 11 games. He gives them an element that makes them dangerous.

Don't love the matchup. SLU plays really big, grabs a ton of rebounds and blocks a ton of shots. As is probably the case with any team we play, our best chance is to turn this into a rock fight and keep it low scoring. SLU defends really well but is susceptible to awful shooting nights.

Thank god these are still posted...otherwise I would have no idea when games were as I have pretty much tuned this season out.

I think we are all going to breathe a collective sigh of relief when this season finally ends.

Give JDS and Mar 10 minutes a game moving forward. Season is lost, let’s see if either can catch fire and gain some confidence.

Mar already gets over 10 minutes per game. JDS tried everything he could to earn more minutes yesterday, but he ultimately went 0-4 from the field.

It’s going to be a realllly long offseason though, especially if DP sticks around.

First couple of months will give us plenty to talk about with transfers and red shirt applications at least. We have no idea what this team is going to look like next year.

JDS hustled yesterday but the game still doesn’t seem to be coming to him. He still has predetermined what he’s doing with the ball every time he touches rather than reading than reading the defense which will never work at this level. There was one play he had a wideee open lane to the rim but he stepped back for a 3 instead.

For his own sake, JDS should transfer. I still think he has loads of offensive potential, but he needs a system with more set plays. You're 100% right that he is predetermining and basically only has 1 way he knows to play the game.

It will be interesting to see how much they blow this up as senior night for Kier/Boyd. They made a really big deal of it leading up to Otis's senior night.

He looks out of control on half his three-point attempts, what a waste of recruiting capital that could have been spent elsewhere

Give Mar 10 minutes more a game. Let JDS keep shooting. Just do something different.

There is no “system” for shooters who can’t make even wide open shots. At some point the ball either has to start going through the hoop or you have to bring a bunch of other stuff to the table.
