Discuss.

It’s a big game away from Philly, so we have to be prepared for Reynolds to drop 27-30 on us for no reason.

If he has that kind of game, can we limit Brown and Fleming enough to compensate? And can we avoid any late game shenanigans to keep them comfortably in our rear view mirror?

I like our chances against an undisciplined, but talented team, especially at home.

I better see at least 5k there, by the way.

Worried about this game being a trap game. SJU always plays us hard. But more importantly coming off of a huge road win, with our biggest game of the season next, this is a prime look ahead game.

Hope the players can stay focused on the task in front of them/SJU and not next Wednesday

I think the week separating this game from vcu helps us not look forward. Its not a 2-3 day turn around so I don't think this will be a trap game in the traditional sense but when good players get hot they're tough to beat. Our defense should keep them plenty disjointed, though

Reynolds is a curious case. He's played better of late, but has been real inconsistent this year. You don't know what your're going to get from him from game-to-game.

I was much more concerned about him last year, but he's a shell of his former self.

He made a nice jump between his freshman and sophmore years, but then leveled off his junior year. The fact he didn't improve his numbers is telling, because this year he has kinda fallen apart.

Look at his numbers: https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/stats/_/id/4683952/erik-reynolds-ii

He's under 40% from the field and shooting just 29% from 3 - a huge drop from where's he's been at over the past couple of years. The one thing I've noticed about his game is he's incorporated a NBA distance step-back three, which he shoots with regularity (NBA scouts likely told him, "You have to be able to show us you have this shot.")

X. Brown has also regressed - hitting 32% of his threes, whereas he was at 40% last year.

Fleming, on the other hand, is a stud, who does everything for this team, and looks to be a late 1st or 2nd round draft pick.

It's possible Brown, Flemming, Reynolds, Simpson, and Finklay all catch fire at the same time - like they did against Loyola - hitting something like 22 threes, but they hadn't shot like that in 20+ years and they're not going to repeat that performance against us.

Haynes should eat Ajogbor alive and I think our guards are going to make things tough enough on Brown and Reynolds that we win. That's the hope!

Yep, we're completely jinxed. Absolutely no way we win this game. No point in even playing it.
I mean, the dark years have been characterized by random dudes going off on us for like 60% from 3. Doesn't mean their team wins but man do we have the right to be weary of a slumping guy catching fire against us.
