I honestly don't know why I bother............ We stink on ice.

Richmond has wins over St. Joe’s, Rhode Island, Davidson, GMU, LaSalle (twice), GW, Fordham, and vcu.

Losses are against St. Louis, Dayton, and vcu.

The game is on ESPN+.

Richmond is led by Blake Francis with 17.2 ppg. He did not play in the first game against us and has only suited up 19 times this year. He will create additional problems for us on the defensive end. Gilyard (13.7), Golden (13.1), and Sherod (12.8) round out the top Spider scorers.

Richmond won the first game 97-87 on January 18. Grant Golden scored 25, Gilyard had 20, and Sherod finished with 19. The Spiders shot 67.3% for the game so it was a very poor defensive effort on our part. Javon had 39 for us in the losing effort. AJ had 19, Miller had 12, and XJ had 10.

Stats from the first game: https://gomason.com/sports/mens-basketball/stats/2019-20/richmond/boxscore/10543

DP is 6-3 against Richmond as a member of the A10.

My prediction: We lost at home with Javon scoring 39. Richmond won’t let him go off like that again so others had better be ready to pick up the slack. This is a tough match-up that I just don’t see us winning. In fact, we have .00001 chance of winning this game. We’re just no damn good. Generous call - Richmond 80 - GMU 72. Realistic call - Richmond 85 - GMU 66. The loss moves us to 3-10 solidifying a PIG game.

Being a Richmond resident , yes I'll go see my boys play. I hope for the best but just don't expect much. Especially if AJ is out. It's been another rough year, real hard not to be frustrated, pissed, you name it. DP is not my choice, he has had 5 years with mediocrity at best. If he can't find and sign A10 quality players then what's the point. Keep doing the same crap u get the same results. Let's hope some positive changes are coming in the near future.

Let’s kill another Richmond teams tourney hopes. Grant Golden is 37 years old and has never had a stiffy. We beat Richmond by 3. Aj is the best mason player in last 6 years. Hope he’s ok

Who knows with this team? But ultimately I think it boils down to Richmond has too many weapons on offense (especially now that Francis is back) and Mason has too few reliable weapons to counter. Hence, going to guess a 15 point loss here.

2. George Mason Patriots at Richmond Spiders(Wednesday, 7 p.m. ET)
Though George Mason has just a 3-9 record in Atlantic 10 play, it took advantage of a banged-up Marcus Evans to stun vcu on the road last week. With guard Jordan Miller playing better offensively to compliment Javon Greene, and AJ Wilson putting forth monster stat lines lately, the Patriots should not be taken lightly.

Richmond certainly increased its chances of earning an at-large bid with its win over vcu last week, but if the Spiders want to remain in the conversation for an NCAA tournament berth, they can ill afford to lose to a program that's in 11th place.

Expect Blake Francis, Jacob Gilyard and Grant Golden -- who had two excellent games last week -- to dominate, even if this clash is closer than many would expect.

Don't think that we particularly match up well with Richmond anymore. Head says Richmond by 18, heart says Richmond by 3.

https://gomason.com/news/2020/2/18/...mond-meet-wednesday-at-the-robins-center.aspx:

"HISTORY vs. RICHMOND
Wednesday's game marks the 64th all-time meeting between George Mason and Richmond in men's basketball (Mason trails 25-38). The Patriots are 15-12 vs. the Spiders in Fairfax and 8-19 in games played in Richmond (2-7 on neutral courts). Mason has won 12 of the past 17 meetings, including seven of the past 10, dating back to the old CAA years. Mason is 6-3 vs. Richmond under head coach Dave Paulsen, although the Spiders have captured three of the past four meetings."

Verizon FIOS in Fairfax County is showing the game on NBCSN+ (channel 578). At least the channel guide on my tv is showing that. Also the Washington Post indicated the same info in today's print edition.

I think the regular NBCSN (channel 590) is showing the hockey game.

I’m not crazy about the Spiders depth, but their starters are better, stronger, faster by a long shot.

Kenpom has Richmond as a 13 pt favorite. Richmond is 4th best in the conference in offensive efficiency and second best in defensive efficiency. Vs Mason's 10th and 11th, respectively.

Vegasinsider opened with Richmond a 12 pt favorite, now down to 11.
