GW has wins over GMU, UMass, St. Joe’s, and Davidson.
Losses are against St. Bonaventure (twice), St. Louis, Duquesne, Fordham, Rhode Island, and Richmond.

The game is on NBCSN.

GW is led by Armel Potter (14.5), Jamison Battle (12.4), Maceo Jack (11.3), and Jameer Nelson II (11.0). However, Potter has missed GW’s last 3 games.

GW won the first match-up of the year 73 - 67 at Smith Center in Foggy Bottom. Armel Potter dominated for GW getting into the paint at will and scored 26 points. Jamison Battle scored 15 for the Colonials. AJ led us with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Jordan Miller scored 12 and Javon Greene added 11 to round out our scoring. We won the rebounding battle 38 - 33.

Stats from the first game: https://gwsports.com/sports/mens-basketball/stats/2019-20/george-mason/boxscore/11640

DP is 4-6 against GW as a member of the A10.

My prediction: This is a game we should win if we do everything right and play with the intensity we saw against vcu. But, with this team who knows? We had no answer for Potter first time out. If Potter plays GW wins 70-64 to drop us to 3-9 in A10 play. If Potter does not play we eke out a 64-63 win and move to 4-8 in A10 play.

I mean, win a game at vcu which most of our fans don't see, come back for a weekend home game against a rival and our fairly strong crowd witness a...

Do I really have to fill in the blank here?

I feel a letdown coming after last night. I'd imagine that physically and emotionally the guys are pretty gassed and will be hard to get up for an empty Pat Dome against UR. Hope it doesn't turn into a boat race again because we won't be able to hang. Richmond by 9.

bruh we are playing GW.... and GW has like 7 players injured currently including 2 of their best 3 players. I don't know if that is going to still be the case Saturday... but Mason should win by 5+

If he doesnt play, we win.
I've seen them a bunch of times and without him they aren't very good.
With him they aren't very good either. Embarrassing we lost to them once and it can't happen twice. I know vcu played a lifeless game (or at least parts of it). But we were able to capitalize on it and beat them. We won the Caymans... Not great competition? Okay. But better than GW, UMass, or some of the other conference foes we've struggled with. Last chance to prove you can coach this season, DP

I see some of us partied harder than others after the big win last night. :D

Like I said, GW should be a close game. I think we squeak this one out in a 2 possession game. Mason by 6.

Re: GW vs Mason Game Thread
So, I'm an adjunct faculty member at George Mason. Yesterday, sitting in their student center having lunch, a member of their athletic department was walking around and chatting up all of the students to get them to come to the game on Saturday (there's a Mason blanket giveaway for students). I introduced myself and the conversation led to my past work in GW Athletics back in the '90s, our common knowledge of former GMU AD and our then AD Jack Kvancz...quite civil and friendly.

Then I said, we are really not very good right now...missing a lot of players. He came back at me and said Mason's not very good either. This led to a humorous discussion of which of our teams was worse, each of us pushing our own team as if lowering expectations would make it better when our respective team loses.

I'm afraid this game is going to be one of those for sure...not who wins but who can best avoid losing.

https://gwsports.com/news/2020/2/14...continues-saturday-on-nbc-sports-network.aspx:

"SKYWALKER: Walker not only got his first A-10 start vs. Rhode Island, but he set a season-high with 14 points and also tied a season-high with five assists.

HIGH FIVES FOR NELSON: Nelson has reached double figures in each of the last five games with his season-high 22 points vs. Saint Joseph's during that span. It is the second time this season that Nelson has reached double digits in five straight games. During the five-game swing, Nelson is averaging 15.0 ppg and 7.0 rpg while shooting 50% from the field.

HEAVY LIFTING: Since Potter went down with an injury during the Davidson game, Nelson has led the Colonials in scoring over the last three games, averaging 13.6 points per game.

PAAR'S PARTY: Over the last five games, Paar is averaging 8.6 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. During the stretch, Paar has recorded double-doubles against Saint Joseph's (10p, 11r) and Davidson (13p, 16r), and nearly completed his third with 10 points and eight boards vs. Rhode Island.

EXTRA TIP-INS: The Rhode Island game featured the seventh different starting lineup for the Colonials … Battle extended his made three-point basket streak to 24 games with a buzzer-beating trey to end the first half … senior Adam Mitola set a season-best with 13 minutes of action vs. URI … junior Ace Stallings had his second-best scoring performance of the season with five points in 14 minutes last game."
