I wish the vcu fans that come on here were funny every now and then.

Bereft of wit, bereft of knowledge, often bereft of, dare I say, a soul.

A lot of the trashier high schools up here have a pipeline to vcu. Hang out at Potomac Mills Mall and you'll see what I mean.

Filth made filthier with their imminent migration to Richmond.

Truly, all of them a noticeable blight on our state and a black eye for our country.

If Mason was only allowed to win one game each year I would want it to be beating vcu at home. I hate the great unwashed and uneducated from the hole we call Richmond more than words can express. I have watched vcu play on TV. They are not what they used to be, but, their defense will cause FITS for us. We turn the ball over against no pressure and create our own panic/havoc. What will happen when we are given pressure and problems to solve? I hate to say this, but we turn it over 35 times and shoot 16% from the field. vcu 89 - Mason 36. The fat, creepy, and slovenly McDonalds and Dominoes employees from the Richmond area leave EBA happy. Sigh. The boards will cry, and we will have to wait until next year.

vcu’s press sucks this season. More often than not all it creates is wide-open shots for their opponent.

Bigger challenge will be defending them because they shoot a ton of 3s and can really score.

Expect a high-scoring game like most of our games are.

According to kenpom's in-conference data, vcu is 12th worst in the A-10 in turnover% when on offense, and 10th worst on defense (turnovers created). Mason's rankings on the same turnover %s are respectively 5th and 14th.

Here's hoping the Tuesday trip to St. Louis is enough of a distraction for vcu, while we get a whole week to get ready for them.

One other note, if you are a Mason fan and for some reason won't be able to attend the game do us all a favor and just eat the cost of the tickets. Please do not put them up for sale so vcu trolls can pack the house. Happened last year and I got stuck with vcu fans behind me and to my right.

Or, agree to meet the vcu fans in person for the transaction, take their money without giving them the tickets and kill any offspring they bring with them.

Actually from what I've seen of vcu this season if you beat the first line of the press you can pretty much get to the bucket at will. Should be a big game for Kier driving to the hoop if that holds true, let's just hope Tillman doesn't swat them all away.

vcu - 68
Mason - 43

It's a game at home we should have against a struggling vcu team. Last year when we played them at home Otis had 5 turnovers in the first half. GMU will have 15+ turnovers because we have really sloppy moments and I'm concerned are passes/ball movement will be lethargic. We lose on rebounding because we don't have an answer for tillman and somebody from vcu will drop 20+ all on 3's.

Let’s hope they know how to control Tillman up front on the glass, and figure out how to control Jenkins on the perimeter. Between that and the press it’s a tough matchup as always. That said I think it’ll be a close one like always. In the third game they started denying the paint hard and then Jenkins burned mason from outside.

As usual, I'd rather just Calixte (and maybe AJ as a backup) just play tight defense on Tillman, and if they get beat they get beat. If denying Tillman means giving up 15 3s in the game, I'd rather Tillman score 27 (because he's probably going to score a ton even if we try to overplay him anyway).

It’s definitely going to be a pick your poison. I don’t think Jenkins or any of their guards are as crazy of a shooter as previous guys like Melvin Johnson, but that’s without looking at anything. It seems like their guards are a bit young other than Jonathon Williams. Also Tillman can hit threes now so you might see Mar and AJ on him a bit on the perimeter.
