If Marquise is healthy and plays Mason wins by 5. If Marquise is limited or does not play UMass wins by 7.

"I'm now putting this in the 'must win' column. It doesn't get any easier with the next three.

This is another small team and they are young. Their starters are:
Moore (6'2) Senior 17.5 points, 10.7 rebounds This is not a typo.
Livingston (5'11) Soph 14.9 points
Jenkins (6'7, 246) Senior 10.6 points, 5.8 rebounds
Grayer (6'4) Soph 9.5 points
Keir (6'4) Freshman 6.6 points, 5.4 rebounds

Top guys off the bench are:
Boyd (6'2) Freshman 5.5 points
Newman (6'4) Freshman 4.4 points

They only turn the ball over 12.6 times a game, but vcu caused 17 turnovers while committing only 16 fouls. That's impressive, but that's vcu. GMU has outrebounded their opponents 41.6 to 32.6 with a small team, but vcu outrebounded them by 11. Makes you wonder if their OOC was soft.

On paper I have a better feeling about this game than I did before, but I need to see us play better before I have confidence in an A10 road win."

If Marquise is inactive, then the question is how will his team-leading 35.1 minutes per game be allocated? I assume that Ian Boyd will replace him in the starting lineup and his and Karmari Newman's playing time will increase. But, who would replace Marquise in the rotation: DeAndre Abram and/or Kameron Murrell?

Murrell has been consistently coming in before Abram, so I'd guess him, but I seriously doubt he'd get more than 3-5 minutes.

They are very young as well. I think they have like 5-6 Freshmen on their team. But they do have size. Their Center is 6'11 and weighing 300lbs. Jalen will have his hands full. I expect Relvao to get some time matching up on this big boy.

Need to play tight Defense on Clark, if we can take him out the game then we can get the W.

Hopefully Moore will be good to go but if not we need Jenkins and Otis to step up and score some points and for Boyd and Newman to not try and do it all but provide a solid role with expanded minutes.

This would be a really nice win. I think a lot of it depends on Moore's health, but I'm also down for continuing to see the young guys step up. Otis is due for a bounce back.

I hope the guys really want to get the bad taste out of their mouths after the game this past Friday night. Moore or not, this team will be ready and will bounce back. With two tough road games to follow some might call this a "must win".

I want to see Boyd be a little more aggressive. He has all the physical tools to get to the basket regularly and is a pretty good shooter. Drive the lane, pick up fouls, and once they start defending the drive, pull up from the elbow like he did a few times against Penn. We also have the passing ability to find him on a back cut and let his athletic ability take care of things at the rim.

Agree on Boyd being more involved. This is going to be a tough game. I think you see Otis have a strong bounce back game. If Moore is a no go, then Boyd should get all his minutes and lets see if he can carry the team. He will have to next year, so might as well expose him to that now.
