I don't understand how JMU can spend $3.5M on their program. Their arena is a horse barn.

These reports are useless, not all schools have the same accounting methods for recording basketball expenses.

Davidson spends less than we do.

But, yes, we don't report running the EBA as an expense of the basketball team while vcu et al do. That doesn't account for the entire discrepancy, but until revenue and donations increase that's where we are.

Back in our CAA days, we were always 4th in hoops spending behind vcu, JMU and ODU

I always thought our travel budget must have been much smaller than everyone else's in the CAA because we were so central in the league...close to New York, Philadelphia/Delaware, Baltimore, Harrisonburg, Richmond, and Norfolk/Williamsburg. The only longish trips for GMU were Boston and Wilmington. None of the other schools had the geography advantage we did when it came to traveling.
