I would seriously object. Championships aren't won on paper. That's what March madness is all about. It sucks, but no championship tournaments should = no champion.

Agreed, but there is about 100 years worth of football national champions without any kind of playoff system -- hell, the University of Pittsburgh throws about 20 up there from before they even really took track.
