Can't believe this hasn't gotten more discussion. We had an hour of Coach P on stage interviewing Coach L and the 2006 team (sans Gabe). Great stories (thanks to JV for breaking the ice), a few things we hadn't heard before, and it ended with Coach L giving a fundraising pitch to help Brad build the practice facility and keep the program competitive. Nice event overall.
Agreed. Classy and well put together. Would you liked to see Coach L talk more, but I don't know what he could say that most of us haven't heard before. I, for one, think it is great how Paulsen has embraced the Coach L era, and wasn't scared of it. Same concept of how Jay Wright embraced Massimino, Bruce Pearl embraced Summit, and Nick Saban has embraced the Bryant era.
However, I think possibly the best thing was the current players seeing everything. They saw the excitement and the possibility of a FF run was put in their head, if it wasn't before. They saw how a large number of alum and/or boosters support the program. Sometimes the FF banner sort of blends in to everything (still weird how that is front and center, and the USA flag is off to the side, but that's another issue.)
Well done Mason staff!
