We need to make shirts that say, "Burn that Mo' Fo'ing Boat!"

Mark Adams said we're potentially a bubble team... I like this guy.

What do people think about our chances at making a run similar to 06. Not saying the Final Four, but the Elite 8?

From "panic button" to a potential NCAA bid in less than a month? Some of you people are friggin nuts.

Still a long way to go. Why not just try to enjoy the season ... it will be over before we know it.

I know I was hitting the panic button more then anyone, so my opinion means shit. Haha. But no one in the a10 scares me this year. Not saying we are going to win every game, but we have a chance every night.

It's going to be a fun year

Haha I was joking. More a comment on how people can have ridiculous opinions after a little run.

You're never as good as you are when things are going great, and you're never as bad as you are when things are going terribly.

Actually that's not true. We were that bad under Hewitt.

The King of the overreactions continues, except now positive.... Teams in A-10 that should scare you:

Rhode Island 7-4 losses to Duke, Houston (by 5), Providence, and Valpo..
One bad loss to Valpo, otherwise we have a common defeat and they lost to two teams better than anyone on our schedule. EC Matthews is awesome and should eat against us. Jared Terrell is also really good

ZooMass 8-3 losses to UCF, Ole Miss and Providence
They have beaten Harvard and Temple (two teams better than anyone we have played) They have one guy who can straight up fill the score sheet with 3's.

vcu 8-3 losses to Georgia Tech, Illinois and #3 Baylor...
They have beaten St. John's and LSU (two teams better than anyone we have played)

About 4 others

I think you get the point... Yes we are exceeding expectations by a lot and could have a shot at winning every remaining game we are playing.... But get your head out of the sand people. Their are reasons we played a tier 5 Non-Conf schedule...

Wait, so you don't believe they are making a final four run this year? I'M SO CONFUSED

Well played.

As fans/diehards we have a natural tendency to overreact over every win. That being said I agree with your assessment. The program is still rebuilding and growing, but much like last year, the path to success is the road the program is on and we can sit back and enjoy the ride. Even last year at 11 wins, it was a lot more fun than any other 11 win season a team had...

Going to disagree with you on vcu, Georgia Tech is bad (vcu was favored by 15 in that game, lost in OT), and vcu has also been up in down in many games. They aren't as scary as one would think.

Also St Johns is awful this year, theyve lost a few buy games, and got blown out by Penn State.

Umass has had many games close and nearly lost to NC A&T. They are very good at home, but on the road it seems like its a different story (and they only have 3 road games).

Also, Rhode Island should be the league favorite and I agree with your assessment there. I expect them to be top tier.

But otherwise the league seems very up and down and wide open, much like the few examples above. Mason played a weak OOC schedule but there is no reason why they can't finish at or above .500 in conference if they continue to play the way they have, especially since they have beaten the better teams on their schedule (other than Towson and Houston). The league is probably going to be a one-two bid league at best.

I wasn't meaning to call GT good.

I agree on the league this year being one-two bid. I think Rhode Island rises to the top as they are by far the best team on paper in the A10

All good with GT- was just saying that saying losing to GT and beating St Johns doesn't make them that great IMO, and certainly not better/that much better than anyone on Mason's schedule. :chuckle:

I also agree with Rhode Island being the team to beat, but I'm not sure that they are all that much better than anyone else in the conference.

I eat crow, and you still have to insult. But none the less your assessment is on point. Rhode Island, Umass, and vcu will be tough games. I would also add St. Bonaventure into the mix. They look amazing at times to. But my point was; none of those teams down right scare me, and I'm going to give mason a chance to win every night instead of assuming they will lose.

Again I'm not saying we are going to run away with the league. Im not that naive to think we will win every game. In the beginning of the season I was ready to write this team off as a bottom feeder, and now I'm just excited to watch every game. I know we will lose some, but before the game starts I think Mason has more than a punchers' chance to win.

And yes the teams you mentioned are solid teams, but I wouldn't call them dominate and they will have a couple off nights, amd hopefully we experience some of those off nights.

I will admit I was over reacting in the beginning of the season, and now I think I came back to reality. but it doesn't matter how fair of an assessment I make you will troll and find fault in my post.
