It's going to be a long off season so I thought I'd take the time to list my favorite Mason players. Notice I did not say "Best" Mason players, just the ones I enjoyed watching the most. Current players are not included on the list. I saw my first game in 1973 when I was just a kid and have been a lifelong fan. Here is my top 10:

Number 1 - George Evans (97 - 01) and Will Thomas (04 - 08)
Number 2 - Myron Contee (74 - 79)
Number 3 - Andre Gaddy (77 - 82)
Number 4 - Donald Ross (91 - 95)
Number 5 - Carlos Yates (81 - 85)
Number 6 - Luke Hancock (09 - 11)
Number 7 - Kenny Sanders (85 - 89)
Number 8 - Jai Lewis (02- 06)
Number 9 - Herb Estes (73 - 76)
Number 10 - Rob Rose (82 - 86)

Honorable Mention goes to Nik Mirich (The Blunder From Down Under) not because of his prowess or ability on the court. I mention him because we tossed back many beers one afternoon when I ran into him at Whitey's, now closed, in Arlington.

4) Cam Long
5) Marquise Moore
6) Otis Livingston
7) Luke Hancock (so low because he transferred)
8) Lamar Butler (although his defense of Hewitt is questionable
9) Ric Wilson (never saw him play, but loved him on the radio broadcasts)
10) Jon Larranaga (nothing special about him, it he was just a solid all-around player).

It's too challenging for me to do an all-time list (plus I enrolled as a freshman 10 years ago). One day, I'll delve deeper into the annals of Mason history. Until then, my list of the last 10 seasons:

1 Ryan Pearson
2 Mike Morrison
3 Cam Long
4 Marquise Moore
5 Luke Hancock
6 Otis Livingston II
7 Darryl Monroe
8 Sherrod Wright
9 John Vaughan
10 Andre Cornelius

Sixth Man
I was class of '06 so mine is not as far back as some others:

1. Will Thomas
2. Otis Livingston
3. Ryan Pearson
4. Lamar Butler
5. Folarin Campbell
6. Cam Long
7. Jai Lewis
8. Jalen Jenkins
9. Marquise Moore
10. Gabe Norwood
Honorable Mention: Paris Bennett, John Vaughn, Mike Morrison, Ike Tate

Guys from the current team I could see potentially joining the list at this point: Justin Kier, Javon Greene, Greg Calixte, Goanar Mar

edit: put Will Smith instead of Will Thomas... though FPOBA was one of my favorite shows growing up

Will Smith ranks right up there with Peterson as two of Mason's least appreciated players, especially with all he went through in life before getting here: born and raised in West Philadelphia and got into trouble, so his Mom sent him to live in CA...Bel Air to be specific... Got love these rags-to-riches stories...

My top 10 chronologically would be:

Nate Langley
Jason Miskiri
George Evans
Keith Holdan
Lamar Butler
Will Thomas
Folarin Campbell
Ryan Pearson
Bryon Allen
Marquise Moore

I left off current players and to me if you transferred away you don't make the cut, no matter how good you were.
