It's going to be a long off season so I thought I'd take the time to list my favorite Mason players. Notice I did not say "Best" Mason players, just the ones I enjoyed watching the most. Current players are not included on the list. I saw my first game in 1973 when I was just a kid and have been a lifelong fan. Here is my top 10:
Number 1 - George Evans (97 - 01) and Will Thomas (04 - 08)
Number 2 - Myron Contee (74 - 79)
Number 3 - Andre Gaddy (77 - 82)
Number 4 - Donald Ross (91 - 95)
Number 5 - Carlos Yates (81 - 85)
Number 6 - Luke Hancock (09 - 11)
Number 7 - Kenny Sanders (85 - 89)
Number 8 - Jai Lewis (02- 06)
Number 9 - Herb Estes (73 - 76)
Number 10 - Rob Rose (82 - 86)
Honorable Mention goes to Nik Mirich (The Blunder From Down Under) not because of his prowess or ability on the court. I mention him because we tossed back many beers one afternoon when I ran into him at Whitey's, now closed, in Arlington.
