I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, as we have a tough schedule ahead of us (3 games against Kenpom top 50, another against against a top 100-Richmond3 , and a bad matchup at GW).

Currently we're in a 3 way tie for 5th, but I'm not sure of the tie-breakers in a 3 way tie. Moving up to the 4 seed replacing URI or Richmond to get a double-bye looks unlikely. Getting a 5 or 6 seed would be good as your first game is against winners of the play-in games the night before. A 7 seed matches up with the 10 seed.

I think I'd take the 7 if it means avoiding St. Louis in our first game. I'd be livid if we got a really good seed only to go down to St. Louis in the first round.

No offense Psyclone, but this thread is a giant jinx.

I'm going to blame you if the rest of our season turns to sh!t.

No offense taken:chuckle:. But hey, at least we definitely play in the A10 tournament---at least I didn't post bracketology for tournaments that we haven't made yet! If there's any jinx, I would think the blame rests with the one who posted those brackets!

Fordham and St. Louis have some pretty tough games ahead of them anyway. Those two teams are our competition to stay out of the PIG. They are both sitting at 4-8 right now.

I would argue that its possible... but we would need to beat Richmond. Yes, we have a tough end of the season schedule ahead of us, but I think this team can go 4-2 in its last 6 games (losses to Dayton at Dayton and vcu at vcu). That would get us to 11-7... which should be enough to sneak in a 4 seed... maybe a 3 seed if Richmond and URI tank and we beat both of them... still too early IMO to say we will miss a chance at a double bye... especially since we play both Richmond and URI at home

If we make it to the semifinals, you shouldn't need a TV. You should be in Pittsburgh! :)

I had a hotel room already booked for Pittsburgh, then found out the previously yet to be determined weekend that friends were visiting from Vermont had been determined to be that weekend :(

Gemini - final on CBS, semi's on CBS Sportsnetwork

http://www.a10talk.com/race-double-bye/:

"George Mason (8-5) – The fact that Mason is even in this discussion is reason enough to cheer what Dave Paulsen has done in turning this team around. That Patriots are riding a four-game winning streak that have included some really impressive wins, namely home blowouts of Richmond and La Salle and a big road W at Davidson. In many ways, George Mason is officially back and their fans have to be believing at this point that they have their guy in Dave Paulsen, and oh by the way, they are doing this with the nation’s 53rd least experienced team. So much to be excited about in Fairfax right now. HOWEVA’, in terms of top-four finishes and double-byes, it may be an uphill battle for Mason. The Patriots have a monster home game Saturday against Rhode Island, no gimme, then have road games remaining at Dayton, vcu and GW. They’ll also host Duquesne in what is the only game kenpom has them the favorite to win. That’s just a brutal closing slate and with already no room for error, I think ultimately proves too much to overcome for a top-four seed."
