Well, it's early but we are where we were predicted to be in the Pre-Season, 10th place (tied).

Rhode Island taking care of business.
Duquesne probably only super surprise thus far.
vcu has surprising loss at St. Joe's but sitting pretty at 3-1

Hopefully this thread doesn't regress into giving that idiot yet another platform, but I know people do not seem to have the ability to ignore a certain poster and must respond to him. I post this stuff because 99% of people on here give either entertaining or knowledgeable feedback.

Duquesne has 3 grad transfers, which is why they are "suprising" people. They lost to vcu last night in Richmond. Duquesne also has 5 transfers eligible next season.

They must have alot of walk ons as there is only one senior on the team graduating making room for 5 more scholarship players.

I was wondering the same thing. I was looking at this roster while watching their game against Fordham last week, and then googled how many DI scholarships can you have for hoops (I couldn't remember if it was 12, 13 or 14), and it is 13. So, the numbers don't add up with the transfers for next season.

Duquesne's new coach must feel like the quickest/best way to turn around the program is to bring in transfers. As good as their record is, I dont see how they get an at large. They lost their only tough OOC game at Pitt and lost at home to Cornell. Maybe they are the team to beat URI in the conference finals and push the A10 to 2 bids.

Just like here, some want the coach fired now and others are more understanding of the situation he inherited. And just like here, both camps are concerned about the blowouts.

Wow! I hope there is a suicide watch at Richmond area McDonalds today.

Except (and not to give vcu too much props here) Rhoades inherited better facilities, game day atmosphere, community/alumni/student support, and players than Paulsen.

If I were a vcu fan, I would be panicking.

Yeah. Not to mention they have been to the NCAA tourney 7(?) years in a row, have been through multiple coaching changes without a hitch, Rhoades is from the same coaching tree and is familiar with the system that was run there, took over for a coach that moved up the ranks (not one that was at the time being paid to be unemployed), they have gotten worse as the season has gone on, etc. Point is: I don’t think the situations are very comparable.

vcu, welcome to the downfall. A-10, bury them!
