Schwartz can’t return. I’m hoping for at least 4 transfers out of the bottom of the rotation. That gives CKE room to recruit another stud, 2 transfers and a project athlete

I hadn't realize it, but we're a scholarship down w/Mbaye dropping out late. That and Schwartz alone give us the two spots we need for Dinkins and Fernandez next year. I'd be curious to know if the staff is keeping in contact w/him and is being considered as a future addition. He's currently averaging 12.3 pts, 6.1 rbs, and 1.1 blocks per game.
I could see Hartwell taking his optional 5th year closer to back home.
Otis hasn't played a ton of minutes, but has flashed at times and still a Soph. He's got great size for his position too, but has to start hitting his FTs.
None of the freshman class have really burned up the minutes either. Blake might have the highest upside but looks like he needs to acclimate to the American game more. Gray might be a year out from recovering from his injury and hopefully can become the player everyone was so excited about committing. Hard to tell what we have in Gadsden w/very limited court time.
I hope Cooper comes back for anther season. A sixth year might be a lot to ask, but hopefully someone is advising him to take all the free college you can and to do it now while you're young.
Malik could be a candidate to leave, but I hope not. We've nobody else on the bench that can replace him and would need a transfer for sure if he left.
I don't see XJ or Ticket going anywhere. Polite is trending up in both minutes and performance and would be surprised to see him put his name in the portal.
Oduro would have plenty of options if he put his name in the portal, but outside a coaching change, don't see that happening (the coaching change either).

One time over the summer KE was doing a live Instagram chat and I hopped on. While I was on, Hunter Dickinson jumped on and coach said something about him getting on... but he couldn't really talk to him because of NCAA rules. It definitely seemed like there was a previous relationship with those two. I think some of our guys know him too since he's local. Obviously, Dickinson coming back here to play for us is a pipe dream, but maybe he could spread the word to a former teammate and talk up KE a little bit.
Anything is possible. Probably not, but....

KE got hired in late March and was able get Gaines, Schwartz, and Cooper to transfer for his first year. All arguably our best players on any given night paired with Oduro.
With a year under his belt at the school the A-10 should be scared what KE could possibly be looking to transfer in.

That scholarship didn't ever really exist in the first place. We over recruited. Our two definite scholarship openings (Schwartz, Kabimba) have been filled. Any other scholarship openings depend on Harwell, Cooper, and any transfers out.

Don't think so. Pretty sure he took the scholarship meant for Mbaye. Either way, the scholarship situation remains the same.
Agreed. I'm not sure anyone in the A-10 can match him in recruiting.
We are still actively pursuing Darren Buchanan in the 2022 class, for what that’s worth.

Oh yeah. I definitely think more scholarships will become available. It's just a matter of where they come from.
Correct. If Cooper stays he would take it. If Hartwell stays, he would not. It’s annoyingly complicated.
So right now if Cooper leaves we have 1 open scholarship. And then whoever transfers out.

Updated with Fernandez enrolling early (and added redshirt years to the graphical language), a more visible indicator of covid eligibility exceptions, and an indication of Dinkins and Fernandez eligibility extending beyond 2024-25
Watching these low major bad teams playing their opening round or quarterfinal games shows me how easy it will be to replace Ronnie and Jamal with a quality PG next year. Sac St for instance who is absolutely shitty has a big point guard who takes a high screen and scores over the Idaho bigs at ease and is also a above avg passer. He also can seemingly play a lick of defense. I expect that position which was clearly unacceptably weak this year to improve greatly. So many kids on really shitty teams that could transfer up and start over XJ and Polite.
