The high school basketball season will be starting again soon, figured we can keep track of both Jason Douglas-Stanley and Jordan Miller here (and maybe anyone else we might sign):

Jason Douglas-Stanley plays for Mount Vernon - schedule can be found here: http://mountvernonbasketball.com/team_schedule.php

Jordan Miller plays for Loudoun Valley - schedule is here: http://valleyvikingsports.org/page/2941

Looks like Miller had a scrimmage last weekend and has one this weekend as well.

Jordan Miller's team plays my son's high school (Dominion) twice and my nephew's high school (Riverside) twice, so I hope to get out to see him a few times this season.

End of the first half, Jordan has 17 points. He def favors driving to his left. Most of his points are from drives and getting fouled on drives. He's perfect from the line right now 7/7. Long and athletic kid, needs to add about 15-20 lbs when he gets here. Grayer is probably who he is replacing after he graduates. Briar Woods has a young and small team but the kid guarding Jordan is 6'3.

These are encouraging stat lines but this is public high school basketball. They are not playing d1 competition every night.

All that said, there is enough reason to be optimistic. I'm most excited about the depth they can provide the team next year. On paper Mason has a really good starting lineup, so these young players wont be forced into action before they are ready.

I saw in the PA tournament JD-S was matched up with a freshman (William Jeffress) who is supposedly a top 10/top 50 in the country kid. Mount Vernon plays some pretty decent teams. Looking at his highlights - he's not just scoring layups and driving by players which is encouraging. He's taking some tough, long shots.

Here's an article about that game: http://www.goerie.com/sports/201712...h-falls-to-mt-vernon-in-tournament-title-game

He has some nice elevation when shooting his threes!

Love his aggressiveness/assertiveness. Has long arms and more than enough athleticism.

Can seem him and JG being our two headed monster scoring wise a few years down the road.

He reminds me of a more athletic version of Bryson Johnson, a great 3-pt shooter who played for DP at Bucknell who was a Mason AC last year. Johnson made over 300 3's at Bucknell. If JD-S has a similar career, he's a great get for Mason.
