Chase Tucker has always been a walk-on. If you're wondering about the walk-on who earned a scholarship last season, that was Kam Johnson, and he transferred to D2 Elizabeth City State.I assume this means that Chase Tucker is now a walk on??
He apparently had a shoulder injury of some sort. It’s odd he only played 5 games last year, is there a reason for that
I have zero inside information, so I don't know if this was the connection, but Javon Greene was on the same team in Slovenia this past season.Patriot8 - Any intel on how we got this guy.... seems like it came out of left field. Did any of our coaches have a connection or hop a plane to Slovenia recently?
I've made a point of watching Sivka during pre-game and halftime warmups. All he does is splash 3s. It's routine for him to hit 5-6 in a row. His form and release are excellent and with his height, you're not going to stop him from getting his shot off. I think he could be inline for 15-20 minutes next year.6'10 Forward Stas Sivka made it to campus

Would be awesome if he can contribute next year as a 3 pt shooter, along with Ball. I imagine he needs to bulk up to be able to play the 4 and especially the 5 in the A10.I've made a point of watching Sivka during pre-game and halftime warmups. All he does is splash 3s. If Westhead had Sivka instead of Nic Mirich firing off those threes from the top of the key we would have won more games.
One caveat: we don't know what the staff thinks of his defense and it's pretty clear that if you can't defend you're not going to play a lot of minutes. Still, he's an intriguing prospect.
The dude has played..like 10 minutes all year and he's 3 of 4 from 3...not bad..Would be awesome if he can contribute next year as a 3 pt shooter, along with Ball. I imagine he needs to bulk up to be able to play the 4 and especially the 5 in the A10.
Hopefully defense will maintain and we can improve the 3 pt shooting - will need it for the triple teams Haynes faces next year.
Would have loved to have seen him flush it!Stas Sivka basket from yesterday's win over La Salle:

Worth the same. A flush is more risk...see Jalen Haynes.Would have loved to have seen him flush it!
I don't know. There was a moment when it looked like that ball could have bounced out. Besides, he doesn't have to jump very high. Leave no doubt.Worth the same. A flush is more risk...see Jalen Haynes.
The offense seems to have a better flow to it when he is on the floor (as opposed to Gio).I don't know. There was a moment when it looked like that ball could have bounced out. Besides, he doesn't have to jump very high. Leave no doubt.
When the players came out for warmups at the beginning of the 2nd half of the Bradley game, I counted and Sivka hit 15 threes on 23 attempts. If we can keep Begg, Sivka, and Cokley for the next two (2) years, I'll be very happy. The offense seems to have a better flow to it when he is on the floor (as opposed to Gio).
From ChatGPT:
Is she related to Stas? Or is Sivka a very common name in Slovenia?
Thanks! I wasn't smart enough to use ChatGPT---I did google how common Sivka was as a last name and found that only 303 people had that as a surname. From ChatGPT:
Yes, Ajša Sivka has a brother named Staš Sivka. Staš is also a basketball player from Celje, Slovenia, and he joined the George Mason University men’s basketball team for the 2024–25 season. Standing at 6-foot-10 with a 7-foot-2 wingspan, he previously played two seasons professionally in Slovenia with BC Rogaška and represented Slovenia’s U-20 national team in 2023 .
Ajša and Staš are part of a Slovenian basketball family, with both siblings making strides internationally—Ajša now in the WNBA and Staš in NCAA Division I basketball.
The sky will play at eagle bank arena this summer. Thanks! I wasn't smart enough to use ChatGPT---I did google how common Sivka was as a last name and found that only 303 people had that as a surname.
Maybe they could stage a family reunion when the SKY are in town to play the Mystics? Or when Mason is in Chicago to play Loyola?
