I’m fine with it, but Haynes has got to be more patient in those situations and stop trying to force the issue. Just break the press and set up the offense.

Lack of patience is the exact problem. Everyone seems to have tunnel vision. That last play was a great example. O’Connor gets it into Haynes who gets stood up and instead of passing it back out to a wide open O’Connor Haynes tries to force the issue.

Aaaaaand we’re back. Apparently we just needed to get big goofy #24 out of the game.

GIVING DAY 2023
I don’t think we’ve ever played Fordham where there wasn’t a ton of fouls, the game was ugly, and we have to grind out the win. Our games against them are super painful.

Anyway, glad we locked down the last few minutes and spread our lead out to win by 10. It should keep our net somewhat level which is important at this stage.

Plenty to work on, but we have now clinched a 1 or 2 seed. Mason is now 13-2 in conference. Such an awesome season and I’m looking forward to watching the guys finish strong in the final 3 games. Go mason.

All right - I'm officially worried. We appear to be slumping at the exact wrong time. Yes, our defense is still there and we can make most games close with it, but our offense is dead. When Jalen came out holding his chin tonight, I was in full panic mode. A broken jaw for him would mean the end of our season for sure.

I'm sure this will gin up lots of debate but this is what I see:
Maddux - Slumping and just not right out there
O'Connor - Confidence fading along with his production - just work on your dribbling and passing please, and hit free throws
Woody - Since his crazy threes game, he's been MIA. We aren't even getting his usual 2 threes in the first five minutes of the game.
Gio - At what point does he realize he's big enough to do what he wants out there? Show some intimidation dude! And no more bounce passes to him please.
KD - One good play, one bad one, one good play, one bad one. Hit your free throws KD, you are a guard for Chrissakes.
Beggs - Get a couple good open shots and then play point guard. You ain't MJ, and nobody is wanting you to take over the game. At this point just being a steady hand with the ball makes you valuable.
Billups - Without a doubt, defensive player of the year in the A10. He's been amazing all year but really comes to play in these ridiculous easily winnable games when the rest of his team lays an egg. Think how good we'd be if everyone on the team knew, accepted, and excelled at their role like Billups? He's friggin Superman.
Haynes - Hard to knock a guy that has been most of our offense all year. He needs to stop dribbling so much and look to dish when three guys converge on him under the basket, but lets face it, he's our MVP. We don't win without him. Tony please get him a free throw coach. BTW - he did pass out from under the hoop a couple times tonight, and wasn't Shaq for a change at the line.
Anderson - Has he even played the last few games?

I hate to say it but I'm seeing momentum fading at this point. Tony better come up with something to jump start this team or we may get a double bye and go home on Friday.

Anderson has four points in his last five games. I know we're a defensive minded team but come on. Something has to change there.

Walk-On
I am not sure what I witnessed tonite at EBA. Other than CMU game probably our worst overall performance of the season. Offense was shaky at best, missed 13 FT, 13 TO s, fouled the 3 point shooter 3 times...ugggh. I hope this was vcu loss hangover and not the way the rest of the season will be. On a brighter note we somehow won.
