GIVING DAY 2023
we should have a bit more information tomorrow after practice
based on my limited knowledge - I agree with the first 3 - but the last 2 are a hard sell for me

maybe a better question is who plays more than 20 minutes a game?
as with this lineup we may be looking at a deep 8-9-10 man rotation

and i would love to see an offense with 8 guys each averaging 10 points per game

Hall of Famer
GIVING DAY 2023
Mincy
BOC
Hill
Adebayo
Allenspach

A true stretch 5 is just what this offense needs to open up the paint so the guards can get downhill.

Could see Troutman in place of Hill and/or Ellington in place of Allenspach, but both make sense as the first two off the bench.

Either way I really like this team — it has a chance to be really fun and good regardless of what Rothstein says.

Just My Imagination - Temptations 1971

8-9-10 man rotation
for each game starters are chosen to match/exploit the opposing team

2-5 players sub in and out every 4 minutes, for at least the first half
if close 2nd half, the rotation compresses to the group that has matched up and performed the best
if a blowout, pull players out when they get to 18 points

2nd, but I dont think anyone (including CTS) knows what this lineup will be. We have soo much talent and starting experience, only thing for certain is we will be deep, guys who play stellar defense will have an edge in PT, and the rotation is going to change a lot until the pieces fall into place.

After watching the Scrimmage and talking to some sources this weekend. I'll go with this.

Long
BOC
Troutman
Adebayo
Ellington or Allenspach

Long - A guy coming over from UMD and with all his game experience I think you have to start him to see what he's got and how he can lead the offense.

Mincy and Hill will be the first guards off the bench. Booker is going to be good and looks like he can really score the ball.... he will see some minutes in certain games.

Stas is like a Vlad Moldeveanu.... seems like he likes to sit out and shoot from outside rather than bang down low so seems he will come off the bench to relieve Adebayo at the 4. Drive the basket, shoot from outside... don't picture him posting up.

Ellington and Allenspach will be our bangers down low.... either/or will start and then be the 1st off the bench.

Presley is a question mark..... in the scrimmage he is quick but had some airballs and bricks when shooting. Don't think he is a polished scorer. His passing was interesting.... long passes and kick back outs when driving - some looked good...some looked like WTF are you doing.

I was really happy to see how Long performed given his pedigree/upside.

O'Conner looked far and away best player on the court - excited to see what he can do this year as he seems like he really put in the work in the off season and is ready to be the team's unquestioned leader.

Kanga looked like he belonged and is backing up his 4 star ranking.

I agree with Tweeder that, based on the exhibition, Long/O'Conner/Troutman seem like they are the leading candidates to start at guard and all can be expected to shoot 35% or better from 3.

Then I think we have a ton of options at the 4 and 5 that are less sorted out. We have roster flexibility that allows us to go with all variety of lineups.
