The Mason Nation Reaches Tanzania

This past weekend in East Africa – Zanzibar to be exact, a basketball team from Tanzania was playing Uganda in something called the Mapinduzi Cup. Surprisingly, there isn’t a lot of information out there on the Mapinduzi Cup, or about the teams from Tanzania and Uganda, but check out the uniforms that the Tanzania wore in the matchup:

Yep, that’s the Tanzania team sporting some old school women’s George Mason jerseys from the early 2000’s:

They even left the United States flag on the jersey. Nice touch. I have no idea how the old women’s jerseys made their way to Tanzania – if anyone has any guesses, please let us know. Of course, Tanzania lost the game against Uganda 60-40.
