skeetersMason Assistant Coach Eric Skeeters has been mentioned as a finalist for the Head Coach position at his alma mater, Coppin State.  Five finalists were mentioned, but Maryland’s Bino Ransom has pulled out of the running.  Coppin State announced the finalists for the job last week and interviewed all five.  The Baltimore Sun summarized Skeeters:

A current assistant coach at George Mason and Coppin State alum, Skeeters joined the Patriots following four seasons at the University of South Florida. As a member of the Bulls’ staff from 2009-13, Skeeters helped lead the BIG EAST squad to its first NCAA Tournament bid in 20 years. It came in 2012, when the Bulls defeated California and Temple before falling to Ohio in the round of 32.

Skeeters joins Larry Stewart, an assistant coach at Bowie State, Clifford Reed, an assistant at Savannah State, and Michael Grant, currently the head coach at Division II Stillman College as the remaining finalists.
