On Saturday night, Xavier Johnson of Alexandria, VA’s Episcopal High School announced his intention to play for Coach Dave Paulsen and George Mason University. Johnson, a 6-2 point guard described as an under-recruited play maker, adds depth at the position and provides another understudy to Otis Livingston. Xavier averaged 15.5 points and 5.3 assists per game as a junior, as Episcopal placed second in their conference and ended their season in the VISAA Quarterfinals.

With Johnson, Coach Paulsen lands another local talent that has the skills he looks for – high basketball IQ, someone who will work hard, and help maintain positive team chemistry. Xavier chose the Patriots over offers from Columbia, Boston U, Northern Illinois, Mt. St. Mary’s and American.
