I dont think this is accurate...I know Trump alone visited more than 12 states.

Back to politics now that we suck again.

Why vote at all? Statistically, your vote has zero chance of being the deciding vote.

Till there's an email....memo, meeting...recorded phone call.....we can only "suppose"

But I am sure we can ask Muller to go look into this...whats another 3 years and 30 million dollars to find something that didn't happen.

Bernie didn't win popular vote in 2016. Hoping another moderate drops out soon - Bernie is benefiting from too many in the race.

Yeah, I liked it better when we were good for a game and political discussion briefly ceased. I was wrong - a handful of states had a visit or two. Still, 2 of every 3 campaign stops took place in only 6 states.

I realize that. But if a state goes 55-45 for a particular candidate, why should the EC vote reflect that the winning candidate won all the votes? Does the phrase "tyranny of the majority" apply here, or only when a Republican loses the popular vote but wins a bunch of states with tiny populations? (and wins three states by .2, .7 and .8 %) More people are likely to vote if their vote counts toward something.

Here in Maine the Presidential elections have 4 EC votes--- 2 by congressional district, but then an overall winner with at 2 large votes.

2 congressional districts---you can win outright by popular vote. However the total state popular vote winner gets to claim the additional 2 at large.

Here we also have the classic "split"---southern Maine is the population center and full of Mass/CT retirees that are out numbering the rural upstate. The southern part says "outlaw guns and hunting" and the northern part are losing their minds....

Anyway...using some sort of congressional district allocation, etc could be a better reflection that more approximates a popular vote than just winner take all in a 51 to 49 contest.

The last election here, Clinton carried the southern district of the state, but Trump won the northern. Clinton got the 2 at large by winning the popular overall vote as well....but yet the votes for Trump in the north were "still heard from."

    Dems in 2008 - Don't call Obama a socialist, that's racist!
Dems in 2020 - I'm going to vote for the self-described socialist!

File under, “But it’s OK when we do it”

The Federalist reported yesterday that Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut and other Democratic senators secretly met with foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif during the Munich Security Conference last month. Today, Murphy acknowledged that the meeting took place, arguing that “Congress is a co-equal branch to the executive” and, well, Donald Trump is bad.

It’s quite a volte-face for Murphy. In March of 2015, when President Obama was involved in negotiations with the mullahs, Senator Tom Cotton and 46 of his colleagues released an open letter to the Islamic Republic of Iran, offering some basic lessons on the American constitutional system — namely, an explainer on binding treaties.

Sanders as nominee is suicide. Trump will win. Hands down.

Trump won as a populist so why can't Sanders?

Where is he going to get the vote? Moderate and conservative Dems will disengage. Trump still has a stranglehold on the populist vote. Bernie will have the youth vote which is notoriously fickle when it comes to voting. He has no chance at winning a general election.
