Now that’s not fair. I know a few that aren’t.
Since his rhetoric has always pandered to racists - I'm guessing many are. Certainly enough racists to earn him an electoral college victory. Some would disagree - no question in my mind though.
Notice Trump has only whined about not getting an apology from ABC himself - he certainly won't condemn Rosanne.
That's because everything that happens must revolve around him. Rosanne fired? What about me?
Isn't Roseanne a socialist? Didn't she run for president on the Green Party ticket?
She ran for President with the Green Party in 2012
And that’s how you got Trump.
And his hatred of German luxury cars.
Surely that can't be true.
I don't doubt that.
Not to interrupt yall's circle-jerk of moral superiority based on television personalities tweet, but just wanted to point out that apparently, a liberal tv personality thought it acceptable to call the daughter of the President a feckless c*nt for the crime of tweeting a picture of herself holding her daughter.
Not a spur of the moment tweet, but a pre-recorded episode of a television show in front of an audience of fellow libs and not s single producer, editor, etc. seemed to think this was anything over the line or inappropriate to air.
Back to your jerk. Jim is still the pivot man I believe.
That should get her invited to the White House like Ted Nugent.
So it's justifiable because Trump. Kind of like the Trumpers justifying because Clinton.
How very principled of you all. Men of integrity. I'm sure your Fathers would be proud.
This is perfect. No added commentary needed.
In the wake of the Samantha Bee controversy whereby she called Ivanka Trump a “feckless c**t”, the Television Academy has put the kibosh on any press attending tonight’s 11th annual Television Academy Honors ceremony, which is lauding herTBS series Full Frontal.
Bee is among a number of honorees whose shows were recognized for their “Programming that Advanced Social Change.”
I don’t think she should have gone after Ivanka and called her a cunt. I just found it humorous how much outrage was coming from the White House and some conservatives, who had no problem calling Clinton one.
There is a lot of false outrage coming from all sides here. Nobody is innocent from crocodile tears.
When the daughter of the President of the United States is referred to as a "feckless c*nt" on national television in a pre-recorded airing to an applauding audience, for the crime of posting a photo of her hugging her own child, I wouldn't define that as "false outrage."
That's me though. That's the kind of man I am.
You so-called "male feminists" seem to have your own sliding scale of allowable language. That's the kind of men you are.
She has a lot of baggage, butHillary
Agreed. IMO, there is much more hypocrisy from the right as far as name calling. I had relatives whine I was disrespecting the presidency when I referred to 43 as Dubya. Same relatives often dropped the n word when referring to Obama. The Obamas dealt with vulgar characterizations from day one. (and still do) Clinton too of course.
As far as my Dad Q, he was thrilled Roseanne got the boot and I'm not sure he knew who Samantha Bee was prior to the news coverage. Rosanne's fame and reach compared to Bee on TBS likely impacted the way their cases were handled by their respective networks. ABC can couch their decision in moral terms, but I'm sure they knew Rosanne's continuing crazy behavior would cost them in the long run.
Interested in getting a better grip on the male-feminist moral equivalency argument.
Because you have a double-standard that doesn't see what occurs as name-calling.
Every late-night comedy talk show and award show is regularly filled w/some of the most vulgar invectives that would never have passed censors not all that long ago. Now, it's simply accepted as deserved.
Read the responses from Bee's PR-speak apology tweet:
Tribalists like Jim and GL will claim Trump as their justification but it's been going on a lot longer than that, and quite frankly a big reason Trump won.
You don't have to do much Googling to find thousands of articles and images comparing President Bush to Hitler. Or claiming honorable men like Mitt Romney and John McCain of being racist misogynists. It took 2 weeks for Letterman to apologize for making a joke about Sarah Palin's 14 y/o daughter and that was in the middle of the Obama Presidency.
The ascendancy of Trump has brought some of the worst of society into the spotlight and that's shameful and bad for the country. Some of the same people pointing to those deplorables now, and they are deplorables, are the exact same that gave cover not all that long ago to other deplorables like Jeremiah Wrigtht, Farakhan, and Bill Ayers.
Glad you oppose Trump Q, but that is really a no brainer. We are basically involved in the same thing here - you throw out examples of liberal nastiness and I throw out examples of conservative nastiness. For every Letterman joke I can throw out a "Pizzagate" (which was more consequential than a bad joke) and on and on. Bush was accused of being Hitler by some liberals and some conservatives actually convinced themselves Obama was seeking to wrangle himself a third term. Two sides of the same coin. You focus on attacks on your side and me on mine.
You think there is more hypocrisy on the left and I think there is more on the right. Guess that makes us both tribalists. I'd have been a tribalist that would've accepted and respected a Kasich presidency - I believe GL has stated the same.
