“Take it out, race it up, get it in Otis’s hands and see what you can get,” he said. “Don’t let them set their defense, don’t let them calm down.”
Great coaching not to call a timeout and allow them to set up their defense.
I like that the article says Otis flipped Boyd the ball. He should have gotten the assist for that. I also like they gave a shoutout to Mar for hitting the clutch free throws. The more our guys get national exposure the better for the success of our team long term.
I just love having us talked about again for something positive. With all the negativity surrounding the NCAA right now, maybe it’s up and coming programs like ours that the light can shine on? Time to stop loving the blue bloods and start admiring the programs that have been doing it with class (sans ball punching and pillow stealing) for years.
We've had something "magical" each of the last 3 years - Shevon turning from awkward Jamaican soccer player into almost leading NCAA in rebounding and becoming a solid NBDL player, Moore's triple double and having one of the best rebounding seasons in the history of the NCAA for a guard, to this years buzzer beaters.
Solid write-up. Esp in a .500ish year, it's always nice to get some shine!
Yeah, always nice of the Post to take a little break from their coverage of Paul VI and the WCAC and other local teams like VCU and Villanova to check out what's going on at Mason.
New Buzzer beater video from ESPN this morning. First two clips are Mr. SportsCenter's heroics:
Thanks for posting - love how Mason starts off the video and Miami finishes it up!
Sportscenter led off tonight with Mr. Sportscenter's play tonight and showed all three! Buccigross kept saying Ian Boyd!!!
Probably the best place for this, but I don't think this article was posted when Ian became a household name:
I'm assuming that if Ian Boyd is healthy next season, he will be on the court with the game on the line:
So glad Ian returns for one more.
