I went to the Orange Bowl game in '95. I remember Tom Osborne's controversial decision to reinstate Phillips right before the national title game. Always thought that it had the air of Osborne fearing that his career would pass without a national championship ring rather than the "Phillips needs the structure of football" argument (he had already been suspended 6 games), but maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, such a light response to domestic abuse wouldn't happen today. Sounds like Phillips' life sucked down the road because of bad decisions and I hope that Osborne answered some of those letters...RIP.

Kenny Sailors, jump shot pioneer and Wyoming star, dies at 95 (considered to be the father of the modern jump shot - won the national title at Wyoming in the mid-1940s and played 5 seasons in the NBA - later became a licensed hunting and fishing guide in the Jackson Hole area in Wyoming - sounds like a pretty good life)
