Anyone else watching this series? I've been following it along with The Curse of Oak Island (which seems to be going nowhere and getting goofier by the week - this week they are looking for remnants of the Azteks?) The story so far seems at least plausible, that Hitler reached Templhof Airport, flew to Galicia Spain (shielded by Franco even though Spain was "neutral"), boarded a U-boat at Vigo Spain, sailed to the Canary Islands to refuel and resupply, then landed in port at Argentina. Interesting that there is no recorded forensic evidence of Hitler's death; the Soviets botched the scene at the bunker horribly and the skeletal remains they provided were female and no DNA matches were performed to see if they at least belonged to Eva Braun (this team tried but was turned away by Braun's last living relative). Anyway, next episode tomorrow, should be interesting. Just finished reading several WWII related books, including the autobiography of the Luftwaffe adjutant who stated the he did escape the bunker in Berlin by air, but was later captured by the British, I believe. Also read a pretty good account of the Utah and Omaha Beach efforts to capture the strategic port at Cherbourg.

    Haven't watched that one.

    It's an interesting notion.

I guess the question about Hitler living, dying, in that bunker is pretty academic. Say he did live and got down to Argentina. At this point, so what? ('so what' in the academic 'why does this matter' sense).

He's most likely dead. He would also lived a life in complete irrelevance and obscurity (most likely) because he doesn't come up in the historical record at all post - 1945.

True. The objective of the show as told by the research team is to follow up on information from recently declassified FBI files, which indicate at least some level of concern that Hitler had escaped. The U.S. kept a keen eye on this possibility in the post-war years especially given the alarming level of Nazi infrastructure that had been established in Argentina, which posed a threat to our national security. And the show talks about how he would have lived in obscurity, including witnesses who claim to have seen him posing as a gardener, etc.
