Dagger! Kier's line was very Westbrook-esque with 12 points, 10 boards and 7 assists. If he starts knocking down the 3 like he's capable of doing, the sky really is the limit for this kid.

Also nice to see Boyd playing with some confidence and stepping up with 15 points. He has the body and strength to drive like Marquise, so hopefully things slow down like they did tonight and he can play in control. We are a completely different team when those two play like they did tonight.

Now that's what I'm talking about! An effort to be proud of. Not because we won (well hell yeah, that has something to do with it) but because we competed and never quit. Loved it Patriots! Dumbfounded by the St. Joe's coach. In the huddle he had to tell his team, if we're going to lose let it be anyone but Livingston. Yet, who won the game? Otis "MY Man" Livingston!!!!!!!

Mistakes made in the clutch, i.e.. Kier's turnover and Grayer's missed free throws. But never quit, and came out with a top play in Mason hoops history. Well done gentlemen, and coach. Let's build on this.

That was quite a tough shot by Livingston. Would have liked them to be able to get the ball a little deeper there, but what a finish.

I also thought we looked in control before Calixte lost the thread of the game and had to be pulled after that boneheaded foul.

Post script. Had about a 10 minute conversation with Brad Edwards after the game at Brion's Grille. I asked him some very pointed questions. He loves Dave Paulsen and is totally committed to him. He loves our players and the way they represent the university. He thinks that Jared Rueter is the real deal and will be a huge difference maker next year. Brad credits Greg Calixte's rapid improvement this year because, "He has to go up against an ACC player every day in practice." He raves about our incoming freshman Douglas-Stanley and Miller. Although, the staff is worried that other programs may try to come along and poach them due to the extremely high level of their play. Left the conversation feeling encouraged and confident that we are headed in the right direction. A good night to be a Patriot.

Also have to love Dick Patrick's write up after the Davidson game mentioning Otis practicing long 3s. Well he made a few this game!!

Was it a "Happy Finish"? Or, perhaps a "Where's-the-Pinkie?" I'll bet DJ3 knows. :chuckle:

Davidson beat GW 72 - 45 tonight. Makes our loss the other night not look as bad.

    Wow, what a finish
Say what you will about the skill level on this team, they rarely quit and this is another example of that.

On the play St Joe’s took the lead I would have liked Calixte in there for defense/rebounding. As St Joes was subbing offense-defense, I thought we should too w Calixte.

    Great win

That was a tremendous shot, but not a great look. That was from pretty far out and a low percentage shot. Kudos to Livingston though as he is carrying a big haul right now as primary ball handler and scorer. He’s going to put himself in the top of the record books for G Mas.

I thought that DP did put Greg back in just prior to St. Joe's taking the lead. Not sure who missed their assignment for that wide-open layup.
