We def have more than most, but if you don’t have over a 3.0 you won’t be a walkon the next season at any D1 school. I don’t know why we have 5.
Finally getting to the second half now. One thing our guards do is they wait too long to get our bigs the ball when they flash open in the paint...saw it a lot with AJ tonight. Did he miss a bunch of jumpers? Sure. Could he had had 4-5 layups if they got him the ball on time? Probably. Also just missed out on a thunderous alley-oop from Kolek, but difficulty level on the catch and dunk was medium-hard on that one.
Do we know if this is how Dave's contract works? I believe for APR purposes only scholarship players count... part of the reason you can be cynical about those heartwarming videos of a walk-on getting a scholly. It's always going to a guy getting a 3.8 or higher that's gonna lift the team GPA. I'd be a little mad if we're paying Dave more because he's stuffing the bench with nerd walk-ons to raise the team GPA, then lamenting how good the starters look in practice after we get our doors blown off.
In case you had any doubts, Dave said in the presser last night that the team has been working really hard in practice and improving. I know you and everyone else loves hearing that.

A team’s total points are divided by points possible and then multiplied by 1,000 to equal the team’s Academic Progress Rate. In addition to a team’s current-year APR, its rolling four-year APR is also used to determine accountability. Teams must earn a four-year average APR of 930 to compete in championships."
Lot of good info in there. Looks like we’ll know before April 30th this year Paulsens fate (hopefully immediately following our A10 tourney exit but beggars can’t be choosers)
Yes, if President Washington is going to fire Coach Paulsen, then he should do so before Paulsen earns another $25,000 retention bonus on April 30.
That attendance threshold of 4,600 average home attendance is interesting, too. That gives us an indication of what Brad thought was a reasonable goal for the program in the near term.
