Javon was third team A10 coming into the season, which means the A10 coaches put him as one of the 15-20 best players in the conference. I'm sure he'd have a place on pretty much any team in the A-10 just maybe not starting.
Not sure which team, but Boise St. or Nevada had a transfer from East Tennessee State. There has gotta be guys like this who would come to Mason.
Half of Nevada's roster looks like it's transfers: Robby Robinson: San Diego City College Addison Patterson: Oregon Desmond Cambridge: Brown Warren Washington: Oregon State Khristion Coursealt: Pasadena City College Grant Sherfield: Wichita State Zachary Williams: South Mountain Community College Some JUCO, some transferring up, some transferring down
Boise State had the ETSU guy. Also transfers from Arizona x2, Oregon, UMass Lowell, Portland, and two JUCO transfers (so 8 players on their roster are transfers).
It's a new age. Heard some commentator say it, but as a coach, you should aim to keep your roster old.
pretty much...unless you can afford to load up on NBA talent every year, but that's a handful of programs in the country.
He looked like the exact same player he was here at Mason if not even worse. Just hung around the perimeter with his hands asking for the ball. was impressed with Papas, super high energy, great looking shot and decent ball handler and decision maker. He was like a taller Tyler Kolek.
I don't know what Papas did between high school and now, but it's obviously working. He's a top player in the MAAC and plays really smart. He is fun to watch. Agree with the assessment on JDS. Same old with him. The ball just doesn't go in the basket when he shoots.
