Yet we're also missing layups left and right as well...

You mean like when the shot clock is winding down and he dribbles through an entire zone to get an and-one?

    Yup.

Just a shame he HAS to dribble through the whole zone.

Because we're a middle of the road A10 Program. We have middle of the road facilities. We spend middle of the road money. We have a shitty fanbase. There is no reason why an objective outside observer would expect us to be any better than middle of the road results.

Care to share why you do?

Like the production out of this small lineup. Begs the question why DP didn't go to it against Rhode Island.

St Bonaventure with all those amazing facilities and money and program pedigree sure makes it look easy to put a competitive team on the floor year in year out. I thought we put all these myths you are talking about to bed like 35 times.

Davidson as well. For both it’s about the coach. We aren’t THAT far off from URI but they are consistently top 7 as well.

Sure, SLU, VCU, and Dayton have big advantages.

you can have the nicest facility and best fanbase and a shitty coach and bad product.

it’s a lot about the coach.

Not bad...obviously a game we should win by double digits. Jordan Hall being unconscious late might prevent that.

Very good to see XJ play a little better. Key steal late, some buckets, etc.

    Gotta beat GW

Exact restating of your argument: Some other dude won the lottery! How is it dumb to expect me to?

To be less dicky: Yes, it's possible to overcome disadvantages. Similarly, it's possible to blow advantages.

That said, from an expectation viewpoint, we should expect to be about middle of the road in the A10.

Further, because talent is scarce, it's just as likely that were we to hire a new coach, he would put a worse product on the floor as a better one.

Like, yes, we could get Tony Bennett, but we're just as likely to get Paul Hewitt.

Don’t you block folks for dumb arguments? Does mason hoops have the ability for you to block yourself ?

Wise decision to go small. Happy with the win.

Nah, I usually don't block people for dumb arguments. Some people are dumb, and that's not their fault. I block people for being a-holes. I unblocked everybody (new year, new chances :) ).

Those who are still a-holes will be reblocked. Life's too short to spend your time and energy on a-holes.

    Dave interview on now...

Complimented Daddy big time. Tough matchup for Oduro against their 5-out, went small.

Makes sense. Fairly happy with this one.

Daddy played his balls off, actually. I like him as a "defend 4 positions" guy.

Yes but we are in it with Richmond, Bonaventure, Davidson, GW, and St. Joes when it comes to facilities and revenue. Guess which team out of that group has never had a team finish in the top 4 or make the tournament (or even NIT) since we have joined?

I’ll take the win and they looked more competent than the other night overall.

that said I’m concerned they are headed for that grey area of mediocrity that makes you wonder things.
