Mason half ass'ing something and not communicating clearly? Pissing off alumni that are trying to be engaged?

    Never ever heard of it.

Sources: Certain power conference programs in college basketball are offering approximately 33% less than normal for guarantee games. Another effect of the coronavirus.

The Big Sky is shortening its conference schedule to 16 games in an effort to save its programs money. This will lead to more opportunities for guarantee games in November and December. Another effect of the coronavirus.

Big Sky Basketball Teams to Play 16-Game Conference Schedule in 2020-21 Season
FARMINGTON, Utah (May 22, 2020) - The Big Sky’s women’s and men’s basketball teams will compete in a 16-game conference schedule during the 2020-21 season, the conference office announced today. The...

"The composite 2020-21 Big Sky Conference basketball schedules, which will tip off on or after New Year’s Eve, will be released at a later date. Geographic proximity will be one of the criteria to determine which six opponents each school plays twice and which four opponents each school plays once.

The previously approved 2020-21 conference schedule was a 20-game double-round robin slate that began with two games in early December and resumed after Christmas. Each institution can determine whether it will replace the four fewer conference games in 2020-21 with non-conference matchups."

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2020/05/25/georgetown-maryland-virginia-reopen-coronavirus/:
'"In Northern Virginia, the public George Mason University, with 37,000 students, intends to have 'face-to-face instruction to the extent that we can safely do so,' said Anne Holton, GMU interim president. Officials are identifying spaces on campus where sick students could be isolated and figuring out when and where students and faculty members should be required to wear masks."

Will fans be required to wear masks at EBA? Will the green and gold rooms be open?

Only way I see goldroom open is if they put heated tents on the patio outside. Which might not be a terrible idea regardless, gold room seems to have been getting more crammed recently.

Being anywhere inside for two plus hours with screaming fans, a band blaring spit into the air, and athletes running around, regardless of distancing, is going to be a no go without masking up.

    https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id...ent-ceremony-pushed-2021-jerry-colangelo-says:

"Count the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as the latest institution to have its best-laid plans felled by the coronavirus.

Jerry Colangelo, the chairman of the board of the governors for the Hall, told ESPN on Wednesday that enshrinement ceremonies for the Class of 2020, one of the most star-studded lineups ever that includes Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant, will be moved to spring of 2021.

Colangelo said the original dates of enshrinement weekend, Aug. 28-30, and the proposed alternate dates of Oct. 10-12, are "just not feasible" in light of the coronavirus pandemic that has killed more than 100,000 in the U.S. and has rendered large gatherings taboo. The board of governors will convene on June 10, he said, to explore spring dates.

'We're definitely canceling,' Colangelo said. 'It's going to have to be the first quarter of next year. We'll meet in a couple of weeks and look at the options of how and when and where.'

The Hall was hoping its glittering 2020 class, which also includes former Rockets coach Rudy Tomjanovich, 10-time WNBA All-Star and four-time Olympic gold medalist Tamika Catchings, Baylor women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey, Bentley College women's basketball coach Barbara Stevens, former FIBA and IOC executive Patrick Baumann, and former college coach Eddie Sutton, who died Saturday, would serve as a springboard to trumpet its $23 million renovation. The Hall, located in Springfield, Massachusetts, closed in early February to complete the renovations and planned to reopen on March 25, but because of the pandemic, its doors have remained shuttered."

This should have been done years ago....VCU home game a few years back it was nice so they put tables out there and my experience in the gold room was the best it had ever been. Get this done and slap some TV's up on the wall and I may come back to the gold room in the near future. Side note, in that VCU game they ran out of keg beer so they started passing out tall boys....I'm sure that had something to do with the improved experience!?!

"The Navy-Notre Dame football game that was set to be played in Ireland and been relocated to the United States, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Notre Dame announced on Tuesday that the game which was originally going to take place in Dublin on Aug. 29 will “likely” be played over Labor Day weekend, either on Saturday or Sunday.

The teams plan on playing at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, which will be a first in the 94-year rivalry history. Every previous matchup hosted by Navy has been played at a neutral site."

    https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...eyes-july-camp-open-only-home-due-coronavirus:

"The NFL has decide that teams must hold training camps this summer at their main practice facilities due to the coronavirus pandemic, sources told ESPN on Tuesday.

The NFL plans to announce that plan, along with a tentative start to camps in late July.

There are nine teams that still hold training camps at different sites.

The Carolina Panthers have prepared for every season since their first in 1995 at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. WSPA-TV in Spartanburg, citing sources, first reported this new development.

The Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers are scheduled for the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio, on Aug. 6 and would be the first two teams to report in late July. Pittsburgh usually trains in nearby Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

The Cowboys held training camp in Oxnard, California, from 2012-19 and had been in discussions with the city as well as the River Ridge Residence Inn, their camp home, about pushing back their dates this summer as well as securing the site for camps in the future.

With camp at The Star, the Texas heat could be an issue and lead the team to have practices earlier in the morning or in the early evening. The Cowboys have held early-evening camp practices at The Star that have been open to fans since the facility opened in 2016 following a near-month long stay in California.

Another potential issue for the Cowboys is that The Star has just one grass practice field. In addition to the cool temperatures in Oxnard, the team had the use of two grass fields to help ease the burden on players' legs.

The Washington Redskins, Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams also normally leave their main facilities."

Sources: The NCAA will vote next week on whether or not men's basketball coaches will have access to work their players out during the month of July. Most academic calendars will officially begin in early to mid August. Most programs have not had access to players since March.
